Potential...
Long par 3's and par 5's will test you. The course conditions were surprisingly very good for early spring. The new greens and waste areas are tight, undulating, bumpy and firm. Couldn't hold a green with an 80's balata ball. When those new complexes soften, this course has very good potential to jump in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area places to play joining Chariot Run, Old Capital, Covered Bridge and Champions Pointe.
This course is challenging but fair.
Course is set up long but can be managed by golfers with lesser skill levels.
Great Day
The course was in Great shape, greens ran alittle slower than normal , the Staff was Great Especially Tom ,I think it's a bit easier that it use to be . Love It
A great course
First tee-time of the day was a little dew damp, but they were rolling the greens and they were is great shape. VV has paved the cart paths from the course improvements, and they are great shape. The only complaint is that my Garmin GPS is off because they have not updated during the past year after modifying the course.
Wonderful day
My wife and I was on vacation and we played a round of golf at another course last Sunday. The course was in terrible shape and in need of a lot of work. I lost 6-8 balls and it was very frustrating. This course is wonderful !! We enjoyed the round so much we booked another round on the 14th of October . It was another very enjoyable day . I highly recommend this course.
Wonderful experience
Absolutely love this course and very satisfied with golf now and the deal that we got... thank you so much!
Course has potential
I was disappointed with the fact that when I paid to play the course they said the couse would not be sanded or aerorated, or be sanded and plugged on my scheduled day. We did not received notice at the time I purchased or I would have picked a different course. . My friend and I drove 100 miles to play the course. We were having a 40 year reunion and he was headed back to Milwaukee. I am from southern Kentucky. So you can see how disappointing it was. It ruined our time together to have a nice course to play.
New Updates are making a Big Difference
Golfers who are familiar with Valley View but have not played it for a while are in for a pleasant surprise. Course updates include enhanced putting and chipping areas, as well as modifications to several holes, including a very challenging and longer par five on the front nine(formerly a par 4), and a revamped 18th hole. The 10th hole is unchanged and is still very interesting, The course was in excellent condition and those traditionally fast greens are still tough, Overall this has become one of my favorite stops on the Summer Golf Tour around Floyds Knobs, Great Job to Tom and everyone at Valley View for turning one of my old favorites into a must play course with new, well thought out and enhanced improvements, Thanks.
Concrete Greens, but roll true
The greens don't hold many shots, hole 12 par 3 is the only green that held a shot. We were a threesome that got stuck behind a fivesome and two juniors (10 or 11 yrs. old). The juniors finally left us through on hole 5 (after we asked), but the fivesome would not let us through even at the turn. The course is in good shape though, except for the greens not soft enough to hold a wedge.
Nice course
Course in good shape speed of greens good. Played a little slow because they allowed 5 players in front of us .
First Timer!!
My son and I played this course for the first time. We both agreed that it was a good course and we would definitely play it again. My only issue is that it is about an hour drive from where I live!
Gold tees a little long today
Other than following a fivesome for a couple of holes (they did let us play through) it was a good experience. Staff let us go on out and because of that, we beat the rain...Thanks
Tough course to rate
Received a very indifferent check-in. Front 9 was very back and forth. Lots of chances to get hit with wayward balls. One guy in the foursome in front of us started playing the wrong green on the third hole. One of my playing partners slammed a ball right at the foursome in front of us on the 192 yard par three. Good thing they were paying attention.
Twice we had balls come into our fairway shoulder high from wayward drives.
The back nine is much more playable and scenic.
10th hole is a little funky, but I thought it had personality. However, our round was pretty much ruined by the pace of play. Why a course allows one foursome to totally back up their course is always amazing to me. Twice I just laid down in my cart for about 5 minutes while waiting for them. We had a twosome of ladies and another foursome of guys bunched up behind us on every single hole. We completed the round just shy of 5 hours.
I thought the course was very playable, and in good condition. The greens were nice but if they gave me a quarter for every ball mark I repaired, they would have had to pay me! Given the Hot Deal price we received, I would recommend it.
Club Championship?
Course was in great shape except the greens were a little chewed up due to high traffic. Had a 4:40 tee time and didn't get to tee off till around 5:00 because they couldn't allow anyone to play the front nine until all the golfers involved with the club championship were finished with the entire front! Slow pace due to the group in front letting their kids hit balls off the tees that weren't supposed to be. Struggled to finish before dark. Love this course. Will definitely go back.
Not bad
Can definitely tell that the greens have been rebuilt. They are still very firm and don't roll very true. Very tough to score well with the greens in that shape. I did like the course though. Some tricky holes and course knowledge is important.
Very nice
I have played most of the courses in the area and this one is as good as any.
Wait till the fairways fill in
The greens appear to have been elevated making them more difficult to reach. My GPS was off, apparently not in sync with new design. I think the course will be nice once the brown grass comes back
Good first-ever round at Valley View
We played on Sunday, Jan. 31 and though the temps were mild, the wind was really tough to deal with. Great experience on the course for the first time. An open sort of layout, some greens are positioned quite closely to tee boxes so you have to keep that in mind.
The greens have been re-done within the last year and you could tell that they need time to settle. In our round, they were rather slow and bumpy, but hey, we're playing golf in January. When the greens do firm-up this will be a course I'll re-visit.
Valley View
Greens to firm, will not hold a shot into green. Tee boxes needed mowed, overall I liked the change to the course
Nice layout
Had a good time with the exception of a slow foursome in front of us.
