Albia Golf and Leisure

I played here a few years ago in a golf tournament and was pleasantly surprised afterwords. Also, it appears Albia Golf and Country Club is now called Albia Golf and Leisure because it's now semi private as opposed to private. It's better than your average nine-hole country club in a small town, pretty good value and worth playing if you haven't before. It has some unique holes, so I'll do a quick walk through.

#1 - Plays as it looks. No surprises and pretty easy opening hole.
#2 - Arguably the signature hole. You can hit a long iron or fairway wood to avoid the narrow part of the fairway closer to the green. If you hit driver, go to the right side of the fairway. Left or long is bad near the green.
#3 - Somewhat of a challenging par 4 at 424 yards and woods along the left side. No real surprises.
#4 - Very scorable par 5. If you're a long hitter and crush it, you can actually hit it over the road that runs through the fairway and goes downhill toward the green. I actually hit the fringe on my drive (granted it was playing 15-20 mph downwind). Just don't go long.
#5 - The other possible signature hole. This starts what they call Amen Alley. I'd take off a club for the downhill shot to the green. Great view from the box.
#6 - Tough hole and should be the #1 handicap in my opinion. A long iron or utility club to the left side of the fairway is a good line and your ball should benefit from the down slope. You can take driver over the dogleg, but your target is fairly small. Right is the woods and left are trees and a small creek. The second shot is blind, which makes the par 4 that much tougher.
#7 - Long par 3 that plays as it looks.
#8 - Don't go right as the road is OB. Pretty easy birdie opportunity otherwise.
#9 - Simple par 4 back to the club house that plays beside #1.
