Lake Barkley Golf
We were traveling from Nashville to St Louis & stopped for golf. There were several courses around the KY Lakes but Boots had a tee time that met our itinerary. The course is nestled in the woods of the park. It's a great layout & was in very good condition. We played early so there was a lot of dew, but that burned off after a few holes. Maybe it gets a lot of play, but it seemed like a hidden gem to us. Very friendly staff!

Friendly staff pretty grounds. Greens are in excellent shape fairway the keep cleaned off. Hats off to the staff.
Still Under Rework, but a gem
I always enjoy the beauty of this course. Unfortunately the contractor who was revamping their 18th hole went bankrupt and left job unfinished. Last hole is really played as a temporary par 3.
Good course
Course in really good shape except #18 that washed out in spring that has not been repaired. Its now a par 3. Greens fast and roll forever.

Eighteenth hole under repair, greens ar fantastic. Very walkable course. The front seems to be original and the back added on. The course is on a flat area surrounded by forests.
PACE: It was a busy Saturday morning, so that was definitely a factor. I would've liked to have seen some "ready golf" played by the groups ahead.
CONDITIONS: Tees, greens and fairways were all in good shape. Bunkers were really good.
When I played this course (9/3) due to ongoing construction the 10th hole was shortened to a par 4, and the 18th hole is shortened to a par 3. This was my 2nd time playing this course and I'm yet to play the 18th hole as it exists on the scorecard. I hope they can get all that construction completed to open the full course back up.
STAFF: Got us paid and out on the course.
LAYOUT: A good mix of tough and "less tough" (i.e., easy) holes. Par 3s are a good challenge. Some shorter par 4s for big-hitters to feast on. I used a cart this time, but walked in the past. This course is very walkable.
