Great place
Perfect day, although a bit humid, but a light breeze took care of that. Great layout, I try to play there whenever business brings me up there, about monthly. Unbelievably scenic and quiet. It is a links style course. The greens are superb every time I've been there. The rookies like that place because they don't lose many balls. The good players love it there because of the layout.
Could use another set of Tees
This course is a bit long for me. It could use another set of tees between the Red's and the Whites. There is very little difference between the blues and the whites. There are also some shots where a good drive can put you in trouble by going through the fairway, but laying up leads to a very long second shot.
The bunkers were in terrible shape. Many had weeds growing in them and all could use grooming.
I played in September after Maine had been experiencing a bit of a drought and much of the fairways were burned out which fortunately allowed for some roll. The greens were in great shape, however. It is about the only 18 hole course in the area.
Hidden gem
This place is actually just off Route 3, on Route 204 in Trenton, between Ellsworth and the Hancock airport. Not many courses around that are on the salt water. It's a remarkable piece of property in very good shape. An excellent bargain for the traveler or the locals.
good roll
a nice sunny day with a steady breeze. a beutiful location on tidal estuary. the fairways were firm and greens were in great shape.
