First Time Playing Andrews
Overall the course is quite scenic. Not the best course for a beginner as most holes are par 4 or 5. Lounge and pro shop are quite nice and hospitable.
Great Round
Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff, who helped get our group situated. We played the South course, the pace of play was fast and the course was in good shape even after the heat wave. Will definitely come back to play the other course.
Too hot for this place
Over 100 degrees with the heat index and no water in sight. There was no water past the 2nd hole, and no beverage cart or availability at the turn. Course was pretty burnt and no shade on the back 9.
Fairways in bad conditions
Several tee boxes closed and others need a lot of work. The fairways were in bad condition.
Worth the cost
Andrew's lost one course for new Air Force 1 hangar, so holes have shifted. But this course is still an easy course to walk if you choose.
Course Condition
I had not played this course in about 7 years because it had become a dog track. Recently I was told that the course had a new superintendent but it was the old superintendent they had when the course was in great shape. The last time I had played it there were weeds growing out of the greens. But I must say the greens are now and excellent condition. I played the South course and about three of the tee boxes need work. The fairways were in good shape and the rough is treacherous. The course has come a long ways from when I last played it. Definitely trending in the right direction.
Andrews golf
Needs work on tee boxes and fairways. Need directional markers to holes
The South course has improved but still needs work. The bunkers were hard and had rocks in them and some of the greens were in bad shape
Andrews
Probably the worse condition course I have played. Very disappointing
Disappointed
A lot of the tee boxes were in poor condition. Fairways had strips that were uncut like the mower blade was missing or extremely dull. Greens were horrible. Bunkers had rocks, clay, and standing water. The course has been neglected.
COULD NOT GET ON BASE TO PLAY
GolfNow did not include any instructions to access the AFB to get to the golf course to play. As a result, I went to the visitor center and was told I would need a sponsor. I called the course and was told that there is nothing they can do and to call GolfNow for a refund. As you may know, there is NO WAY to contact GolfNow OR to get a refund day of. I could understand if I did not follow instructions, but in this case THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS!
Totally unfair.
Do not play this Course!
I was a member here back in 2016 and the courses were excellent. Played 2 years ago, it was terrible, there were no greens, just burned bare ground. Do not play here ever! As of 6/1/22 the condition has not changed. They are charging for range balls now. It used to a free. Never coming back. Food also suck.
Horrible Conditions
Very disappointing gold course. The staff at gold shop were friendly. However, the course is in atrocious condition. The greens are hairy/long, slow and have fungus everywhere. The sand traps are horrible kept and manicured. The fairways are in poor condition and the tee boxes are a joke. Local public courses including Hains Point/East Potomac park are in much better shape. Fort Belvoir and Quantico are in much better condition for other military course options. It is hard to call this an acceptable golf course. DO NOT spend the money or waste the time.
Displeased
Forty four years I have been playing the Courses at Andrews . Never have I seen the courses as bad as now. I have always brought guess, not anymore.
