Chesapeake Hills
Chesapeake hills golf course is a great course with many difficult courses. The staff are always friendly and they are doing a great job working on the new upcoming clubhouse. This course has always been the best price for 18 holes around the area. The Greens keeper has always done a phenomenal job with greens and fairways. I highly recommend the course. The ranger has done a fantastic job managing player times and has been flexible in everything. Their are a few different courses in the area but this one has by far brought much joy to the average and athletic golfers. They also have lots of junior tournaments and continue to teach the younger generations to keep the game alive.
Golf is my passion and it's not my full time gig, but I have enjoyed many rounds here at Chesapeake Hills Golf Course.

First Time Playing the Full 18 Holes
Have only played 9 holes previously and wanted to return to play the full 18. They have started building their new clubhouse, so part of the parking lot is blocked off, however they have opened up additional parking on the Pro Shop side of the property to accommodate. I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course--the greens were in excellent shape, and the fairways were filled in and in good condition. Even the bunkers had nice sand and fairly fluffy. What I didn't like was the rough. I don't know what type of grass it is, but it was very thick and growing in all different directions causing it to grab the club and twist it. You either chunked the ball or hurt your wrists--both of which happened to me. The course layout--especially the back nine--is pretty difficult. Lots of severe doglegs, forced layups, and trees blocking your sight line and/or shots. Holes #11 & #12 are particularly tough because of the water crossing the fairway and requiring layups depending on your length. And, there are a lot of uphill shots into the greens where you can't see the green and, depending on where you are, you may not even be able to see the flag. I would definitely play some of these holes differently if I return. This course is approximately 1 hr 20 mins for me. A Saturday morning with cart was only $36 (Senior rate), so this course is definitely worth a trip. BUT, take your patience as it is challenging.
improved
the course was in better shape than I expected but still could use some work. greens were OK. I had'nt played there in a few years. same old challenging layout but it wasnt crowded and weather was great. will go back for sure.
Needs work
It sucks that they won’t let handicap people ride on the course 90 degree. Everything here need a lot of work greens fairways and tee boxes They closed down some of the course for repairs but now it’s all open. The club house was burned down last month hopefully they will start a new one soon so they can start serving food instead of just drinks in a trailer.
