Bad weather couldn't keep me away
I am a member at another TPC club and had the chance to play here while in the area for work. Wow! The weather was cold, wet and windy so for the good folks in the area, most of them stayed home. I sure am glad that I didn't let that stop me. I really thought I had the course to myself, didn't see anyone. I loved loved loved it! I enjoyed the layout, the conditioning and all of the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Standing on the tees, every hole looks gorgeous and is fun to play. This is a bucket list type of course, if you are ever able to get the chance to play it - you must!
Pro-Am at TPC Potomac
Had the chance to play TPC Potomac recently in the Pro-Am for the Quicken Loans National. The course was significantly changed in recent years (formally called TPC Avenel).
The caddy told us that this golf course ranked as the hardest PGA Tour course outside of the majors in 2017. Based on the tees we played, it was pretty manageable, but watching our pro (Jason Gore) play all the way back, it looked like a monster.
Due to the recent rain, the rough was extremely thick and could really play havoc with your approach shots. the greens were undulating, but not unfair. It definitely benefits to have a caddy to assist with sight lines, blind shots and cover distances.
If you get a chance to play the course I would definitely recommend it because it's always fun to play courses that the pros play.

No wonder why this course has a great pga tour tournament. The greens are lightning fast. The course is hard but logical. Hole #11 played as the hardest hole on the PGA in 2017
Good times
It has all the charm of a country club...and for the price. Luckily I was able to pay for the price of a cart. Quite expensive, but very nice. Great practice facilities.
