Championship at Heather Highlands Golf Club

My husband and I played this course over 30 years ago and it was kept up beautifully. We have played there twice over the last few years and it is not well maintained and the club house is very dated with terrible stained carpet from roof water leaks. We lost at least 10 balls this last round between the two of us in the rough right off the fairway due to very long grass and piled up grass clippings. It was very frustrating. The sand traps are overgrown and mostly weeds. There are no woman's tee boxes just markers in the fairway. The fairways are tore up in several areas by the lawn equipment. The green's grass was long and several were either burned or had a fungus. The landscape of the course is beautiful and well spaced out. With a little TLC this course could be great again.

What used to be a pretty decent course with a nice layout has turned into a complete dog track... if you love greens with dead spots and what grass is left is longer than some fairways... this is the place for you. An absolute crime how much money they are still charging to play this place. They have completely given up. My friends and I will never be returning unless there are MAJOR changes. Current owners should definitely sell the plade

They forgot the greens. This course has a great layout but the greens were slower than any greens I have ever played in my life. Most fairways are faster. It’s obvious they are not cutting them which is a shame because the greens were an intra-goal part of an excellent course

Worst greens I’ve played in 20 years of playing this sport. Extremely sad. Bunkers are all weeds. Tee boxes are all weeds. Don’t waste your time or money.

This place used to be a gem. Current ownership cannot maintain any aspect of the course. When I last played, the greens were over an inch long. I would avoid. They're gouging asking $30-40 per round.

This course used to be ok, but this year dandelions is everywhere. All the greens are beated up and very slow. They need to catch up with the greens and do something about it.. Dandelions is all over the T box's also. Worse course i played this year. Not worth my 30 bucks.

Course is in such bad shape. Wouldn’t be surprised if one senior citizen was responsible for all upkeep.

The bunkers are full of weeds and have no sand. The grass is never cut.

First driving into the golf course it was very old and very outdated, the building needs a series update exterior and the parking lot looks like it’s just full of rocks. Not very appealing to the eye. some rearranging should be done about I having the bag holders bye the pro shop, so you’re not leaving your bags out in the parking lot and then taking your cart and having a drive to where you can go into the parking lot with your cart then put your bag and then have the back up and then turn around and then go to the first tee. It’s completely backwards. There should alsoBe a cart path so that when you go to warm up and hit a bucket of balls you actually have that Avenue because if you go to try to pick up your bag and you drive all the way around the building and then you can’t even take the cart by the driving range to warm up. So for sure you should have car parking over by the golf range and then you can proceed straight over to the first or 10th tee.
There was nobody in the pro shop headed to go to the bar, The staff were great however the interior needs an update as well. It looks old.
The course is laid out well the sand is not done very well there’s lots of rocks in the sand if you go in there, The tea boxes more than less have a lot of damage to them, it looks like somebody’s hit it with a shovel and in some of these tea boxes and I am not impressed by it at all the fairways are fine mowed well. The main reason I probably won’t return to this course is because the greens, even though they’re nice looking they’re mode entirely left standing too tall, it is got to be the worst heights of a green that I’ve ever seen it is like putting in your backyard it’s that that slow. There are minor changes to the course that would make it much more attractive and much more accessible from the parking lot to the greens and you would have a much more successful returning clientele base for golf

Fairways where fair, ROUGH WAS LONG, IF YOU MISSED THE FAIRWAY YOU LOST YOUR BALL. Bunker's, There were Bunkers but no sand. Dirt and plenty of weeds. They should fill them in if they don't want to maintain them. Greens where fair... This course needs a lot of work. Too bad it could have been a winner!!!!!

Played all 18; the back 9 wasn’t much better. The greens were the slowest I think I’ve ever played on and all head dead, bumpy sections.

Course has a couple holes with doglegs, but the rest are straight. If that was my only complaint, that'd be fine. However, the conditions of the course were awful. Overgrown bunkers that haven't been weeded all year, tees completely overgrown, greens burnt and very bumpy. Got this on a hot deal and wouldn't even do that again.

Had a few slow groups that everyone jumped, missing a couple holes. No ranger. Nobody keeping pace. I'd go again if it was free or paid for, but that's it. Picture is of the 5th green, but every one looked like this.

They have officially given up. The course is no longer taken care of, yet they charge for a decent course in the area. Check the app for way better deals than this place right now. Used to be a fun course for all kinds of golfers.

They need to start pumping money back into the course or just give up. Tee's, farirways, and greens all in terrible condition. Picture is my ball in #12 fairway. Might as well close for the season and start over.

Fairways were hard as a rock, greens were brown, geese poop absolutely everywhere

do not under any circumstances play here until they decide to actually use water on fairways and actually mow and fix their infected and destroyed greens.
Played August 9 2020 and tee boxes in terrible shape,fairways(basically there are no fairways, all destroyed patches of rough acting as fairway) and greens are unplayable
Course tells you when you show up. They have no right to be open and golf now/ tee off should remove from listing.
