Gleneagle Golf Club

About
Gleneagle Golf Club in Hudsonville offers one of the best golf values in Grand Rapids. It is one of the area's most formidable rounds that you'll find at that price. The layout is characterized by its massive and undulating greens. They play lightning fast too, which makes them even more challenging. At just over 6,700 yards from the back tees, it's not terribly long, but it shouldn't be underestimated. Water hazards are a prominent feature, they come into play on 14 holes. There are also more than 40 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Careful course management is integral for scoring well and accuracy doesn't hurt either. Though it's a formidable layout, there are five sets of tees that make Gleneagle Golf Club accessible for a range of skill levels from beginners to pros.

Will Not Play Again
Unfriendly workers and uptight culture. Not a course that is worth my time or money to play again, especially when there are so many other great courses in the area!
Nice Course
Greens & fairways were in great shape. Tee boxes were moved around which made it a little shorter than it should have been. Staff is doing there best to adapt to the goofy covid rules. FYI...they don’t sell beer. Will definitely play this course again once they allow carts. Holes are a little far apart which makes walking kind of tough.
Solid for the space they have to work with
Tee boxes could use a bit of work, greens and fairways are solid and it’s a good course for the room they have to work with
Decent track for price
Course in nice community development nothing special but a solid muni course for the value. Would play again.
Tough greens
If you are in Western Michigan, you should consider playing this course. What makes the course challenging are the undulating greens. This is a course you must play a few times to score well as the greens are difficult to read.
The first few holes are very tight with trees lining the fairway, it is target golf. Too bad they had to change the 12th hole from a par 5 to a par 3 on account of new condos having been built. All in all, this is a good course to play.
Beautiful Scenery, Challenging Track
I've played this course numerous times, and I have fun every time I do. It's a good length, and tests every aspect of your game. Accuracy trumps distance here, as you will be punished for nearly every off line shot you hit, and getting to the green is only half the challenge. The greens are seldom flat, so missing by a few feet can turn a sure birdie into a tester for par.
The course is well maintained, and the facilities are very nice. The practice areas are great, and even the food tastes good.
Great course and great value
Course is well maintained, staff is very friendly and the cost is very reasonable.
Course was well maintained and in great condition.
Pace of play was pretty good on the front nine got behind a threesome on about hole seven that was made up of younger college kids and they were very slow and not playing to pace. Stopped at the clubhouse for about 20 min to let that groupe get ahead at the turn and still caught them on hole 11 sitting at the tee box. The back nine from there on was really slow. Took almost three hours to play the back nine
Greens great
Tight course with tough greens. The course winds through condos lining the course, with water and scrub areas ever present (some of which is not viewable from the tees). Would like to play it again knowing what I know now. Greens undulate and can be fast.
Challenging greens
The one thing that stands out to me about Gleneagle is their undulating greens. While not fast a straight putt on these greens is a rarity. The course was in very good condition overall. Tree lined fairways but they do a great job of clearing the fallen leaves. One downside is there are several bunkers with small pebbles in them. Those bunkers should be sifted as pebbles really chew up a club face.
Nice course with difficult greens
Nicely maintained course with many rolling & multitiered greens. It's a fun course although the houses are a little close on some holes. The back nine has some nice elevation changes.
the course was in the best shape ever- played for 20 years
i played this course with friends. the course was in fine shape with well maintained greens - bunkers and fairways. the course set up has not changed but the conditions were great. would recommend to others. you have to be straight off the tees.
close to home and great value for the money. I love the back nine.
Very friendly people. Very early in the year. Greens were nice for this early.
Gleneagle has fun, tricky greens. easy looking holes can be hard.
Played first week of April and for early in the season, the course was in good condition. Gleneagle is ranks among my favorite West Michigan courses. Green fees are reasonable, course is always in good shape, greens provide a putting challenge and holes also..
You know you've played a good round when you score well at Gleneagle.
