I went back for more...
Such a great spot here at Bluff Creek. Conditions were great for early Spring and the amount of rain we'd had. It was a chasing the sunset 9 hole walking round here and it was just perfect. Love the layout that everything is in front of you other than 4 where you are bit blind on the first two shots.
It's a great walk and want to give the putting course a try next time I'm in town.
Just ok
Lots of cigarette butts on the course. Yuck. Could use some benches and more trees for shade.
Good challenging course
I’m from California so the ravines where a new challenge for me. The course is beautiful! The greens where very slow because of rain and such. I played with some veterans and they said the slow greens is a norm.
Pace of play
Love the course and whoever the new course super is did a fantastic job correcting the greens from a few years back. It was like a new course. That goodness aside I did have a weird round today. Lots of rain last night and it was cart path only. It was pretty hot, humid and it was not a great cocktail for pace of play. I made it about 5 holes before heading home, pretty sure I was looking at 6 hours to get the round in. Never that slow before but I would call and see what cart rules are if you are concerned pace of play.
Yes, There Are Bluffs and a Creek!
Bluff Creek Golf Course is situated on a beautiful tract of land with rolling hills and lots of mature trees. The course must have been reconfigured or re-rated recently because the current scorecard does not show course ratings or slopes for any of the tees, and there are five tees instead of the previous four, ranging from 6,580 yards (Platinum) to 5,355 yards (Bronze) with an additional tee for juniors or beginners at 3,465 yards (Green). The fairways are generously wide, and despite the surrounding terrain you won’t find many uneven lies with the ball much below or above your feet. Rough was fairly low and manageable, unless a ball strayed too far and ventured into the deeper native grass between some fairways. About the only disappointment with the course was the greens, which were fairly large, smooth, and undulating. They were also slow. Our foursome was composed of golfers who play all over the Twin Cities, and all agreed that these were probably the slowest greens they’d played all year. The round starts off with a dogleg left par 5. A draw shot with a hybrid may be a wise choice here, because a straight shot with a driver may go through the fairway and down the side of a hill. Another option for longer hitters would be to go over the trees on the inside of the dogleg, which one of our group was able to do. The par 4 7th hole, 412 yards from the middle men’s tees, features a shallow grassy ravine about 220 yards out from the tee. The fairway also narrows down at this point, with trees on the left that will impede an approach shot, so playing short of the ravine may be a good choice. Similarly, the 357 yard par 4 12th has a ravine crossing the fairway in front of the green. A shot that doesn’t go much father than the 150 yard marker is called for here, because the fairway slopes down to the ravine from that point and a longer shot will leave you with a downhill stance. The course features many holes with tees or greens that are below the level of the fairway, complicating club selection on windy days. This was my first time playing this course, but I will be back to try it again.
Beautiful Day
Course was in good condition for early season golf, staff was friendly fun course!
Fun course, but was being prepped for winter
Greens were beat up as they prep for winter, and there were a lot of duffers playing and golf balls flying everywhere. Pretty tight so golfers all over your hole too. Overall, it was fun and I’d play it again.
Love Bluff Pricing is high
Paid $65 with a cart. This is a nice course but it’s pricey. Been playing here for years. For that price I think you should have free range balls.
Course Nicely Recovered from 2 weeks ago
Lots of work performed - greens, tee boxes & fairways
Good layout
Greens were very slow and shaggy with a sever winter kill still.
Needs temp green to let other heal.
First time at Bluff Creek GC
I really enjoyed my experience playing at Bluff Creek. I have a high handicap and was able to play to that level despite some tight fairways from the tees (Whites). The greens are definitely still suffering from the winter kill, but no where near as bad as I have seen at other courses this summer.
The staff was super friendly and if you get a chance, this is a wonderful place to go play!
