What A Fun Day On A Fun Course
A perfect course for every level of golfer. Your just need to pick the correct set of tees for your skill level. Conditions were nice...fairways cut nicely, greens were fast and true and the "black sand" bunkers were something new...black sand, not your usual tan colored sand...but it played just like tan sand. There are a variety of holes that will challenge you...doglegs, layups and tight holes. It is a great test of golf. Pace of play was good...finished right at 4 hours. Will play this course again...because it was FUN!
Review
Some tight fairways, with plenty doglegs, some fairly short but you can hit the driver on most of them. Some quirky hole layouts, back and forth holes, and really elevated greens as well. A few greens are postage stamp small. The greens are very good, true and fast, and the best feature of the course. Feels more like a country course than a country club as you would see when you get there, but it is nice that it is private. Good value for the price if cart is included, which it was.
Tough but fair
Forest Hills was in impeccable shape even after morning t-storms. This was a first full round at FH and you’ll be rewarded for keeping tee shots in the fairway but plan on punch-outs and crooked numbers if not. Greens were well maintained and the beer and bloody afterwards was a great way to wrap up the round.
I've played this course about 5 or 6 times now, and it always delivers. The back 9 is much more difficult than the front IMO, and the greens are always in immaculate shape. I've played a lot of golf across the country, and I'd put these greens right up against almost any course I've played. Fun to putt on, fast, and true.,....it really is a joy to play, but especially putt on this course.
Beautiful Course
This course is very well kept with beautiful fairways and fast true greens. My foursome had a great time and will definitely return.
Nice course....
Good variety of holes. Conditions were great. Overall a nice course. Signs to the next hole were at times confusing but not bad.
$65 hot deal? Please...
not with the amount they are asking. Just an average course.
Go to The Royal, ect...
Private country club wannabes.
Hacks.
Perfect greens; fairways and tee boxes could use work; claustrophobic layout
Forest Hills has some of the best greens I’ve played all year. They roll true and are the perfect speed. I’m just not a fan of this course’s layout. It’s evident that this is an older golf course, with the abundance of mature trees, reliance on doglegs, and several tiny greens. It really is packed into a Forest Lake neighborhood, with OB legitimately in play on at least six holes. There are a lot of holes where you’ll hit less than driver, which is fine, but it gets somewhat repetitive. You have only a couple of opportunities to let the driver really rip. The Par 3s are a weakness of this course - Hole 3 is bizarre (210 with an elevated tiny green) and so is Hole 10 (downhill 135 yard Par 3 that feels like it should be on an executive course). The fairways and tee boxes were not what I’d expect from a semi-private course; especially hole 15 where you hit over the water, where the fairway damage is significant. I’d play this again just for the greens and for an accuracy challenge. I just don’t think $62 is justified based on the conditions and if you’re spraying it at all, this course will really punish you.
Pretty Course in the Fall
Course relies on precision shots. Narrower fairways - what you would expect with a private course. Greens had some pretty gnarly slopes, but not as quick as a StoneRidge or The Jewel. Members were really friendly.
Great Course
Enjoyed playing this one recently. The pace of play was not bad, larger groups allowed me (as a single) to play through.
Course was in great shape! Fast greens, thick rough (as it should be) longer&shorter holes, along with some new construction on back 9.
Perfect
Love this course. Challenging holes with various elevations and epic tee shots or green approach shots (if in the fairway).
Long hitters will enjoy the doglegs & downhill par 5s.
If you play from the trees it will be a long day and some rough will require a punch out to save par.
Pace when I’ve played has been good (I’ve only played as a single late afternoon weekdays)
All in all great course overall 5 star in my book.
Great layout
Course has a lot of different holes long short right left super fast greens that ran true would definitely play again but I would not pay 62.00 dollars as is price on golfnow
