Last go at LeSueur
For a end of the year round, it was memborable, weather was great, had a frost delay in front of us, but if we weren't told we would not have known. Fairways and greens were perfect and even minimal leaf issues. The bar personnel were friendly and the carts were clean and ran well. I would return in a heartbeat
Country Club
From the moment we checked in we were treated poorly. If a private club does not want the public to play their course then they shouldn’t offer tee times. Pace was horrible, we saw several groups with 5 or 6 and one had 7 players. We quit after sixteen holes as they were two foursome still waiting to tee off. Horrible experience which is too bad as the course was in good shape and the greens were great.
Very nice traditional country club with some elevation changes
Good layout, nice variety of holes with some interesting elevation changes. About a third of the holes, I think, are particularly interesting. A very nice real creek - as opposed to the all-too-often man-made one - flows through a handful of holes. However, the holes are all very close to each other so seeing a ball or person in your fairway from another hole is very common.
The course conditions suggested the course gets played a lot but were still good, considering many of the divots and such were expected from earlier golfers.
Trees on both sides of every hole make the punch shot useful on this course.
Greens were among the fastest I've played.
Par 70 from the Black tees, par 72 from Blues, Whites & Reds. The Blues are probably the standard Men's tees. The Whites were closer to the Reds than the Blues, more like Junior/Senior tees.
Definitely walkable, although there are some elevation changes to walk up and down.
Staff was excellent.
Nice views of the course from the 19th Hole patio, especially the par 3 10th hole.
Whenever Costco has the $59.99 for 2 rounds with a cart deal, we always try to take advantage of it; a great deal.
Gem
Fantastic semi private course about an hour from Minneapolis. Small, undulated, very quick greens, coupled with some elevation changes, make for an enjoyable round. Course condition is country club material, and staff is second to none. If course was located in the Twin Cities, it would command a reasonable fee or dues commiserate with mid level private clubs in the area. Public can play on certain days and times.
Classy and classic
Mature course, excellent condition, well maintained, challenging from all tees. Friendy, knowlegeable and thoroughly competent staff. Elevation changes on several holes. A joy to play!
Shhhh!!! Its our little secret. ;-)
