Nice layout
Friendly staff, slower play on front 9, much faster on back 9. Nice course with a number of challenging holes, including one with an island green. Will be playing again soon.
Ridgewood Review
Four of us played in the afternoon. The greens were is superb shape and the fairways were very good. We enjoyed ourselves and would do it again at the earliest opportuity.
Beautiful Course
This course is kept in great condition with smooth greens. Good experience.
Diverse 9s Make for Fun Day
I have played most of the courses in the HWY 371 corridor north of Brainerd and for whatever reason had not played Ridgewood until yesterday. The front and back 9s are very different from each other. The front 9 is more of an older design where mounded greens and severe slopes protect the course from par. The back 9 is more of a longer, modern design with excellent green complexes and difficult approach shots including a unique island green. The course was in excellent condition and it is clear that the maintenance staff knows what they are doing. Check in was very quick and convenient with a nice practice range just outside the clubhouse. The practice green is right next to the tee box on the 1st hole and the trick here is to leave your cart there after working on your short game, tee off and then drive around the clubhouse to play your 2nd shot. Beverage service on the course was OUTSTANDING in every sense of the word. Treat yourself to the beautiful scenery and excellent golf that Ridgewood has to offer at reasonable rates.
Decent
Some holes are a bit quirky with trees and severe dog legs. Some greens are small and crowned, but overall course condition was good.
One of the nicest Minnesota courses I have played
Will return. Excellent condition, challenging greens, great driving holes. Poor placement of approach shots would allow the ball to roll off the small greens, much like the US Open this weekend.
course you have to play
Ridgewood was in outstanding shape after a long northern winter. The greens are in tip top shape, you can tell a lot of time was put into the course this spring. A great value for the money and a course you have to play if you are in the Longville- Walker area. Looking forward to playing course again.
Nice track, poor customer service.
This is a very nice up north golf course. The front is short and tight and the back is long and open. It has a very unique island green par 4 that is fun to challenge. I would recommend this course highly if it had better personnel that were more golf orientated. Unfortunately it is a family run course with poor customer service. If they ever figure this out it will be a very fun place to play.
