The Majestic At Lake Walden - 2nd Nine / 3rd Nine

Looked at tee times on a Sunday morning and saw that there was nothing booked here all afternoon. Management is obviously overpricing it - considering every other course in the area was completely booked - but I'm happy to play a course which I was able to knock out 18 holes in under 3 hours.

This course is not worth the premium if it's full. Cart GPS is old software and it was off when compared with other GPS. The carts were really slow getting around the course. There was water all over the course, bunkers were flooded, fairways were wet, and the last time it rained was 2 days ago.

Gold tees weren't out, so the blues were the longest on the course. Tee boxes were in good condition. Greens were smooth and in good condition. Fairways were good, rough was fine but patchy in some spots. This was far from an easy course, greens were narrow and tough to hit with lots of hills surrounding them that punish you if you miss with a difficult chip. Par 5's were all over 500 yards so unless you're a big hitter you're laying up on your 2nd. The Par 3's on the back 9 were 204 and 196. Greens were hard to read. There's woods that punish you if you can't hit the ball straight off the tee. We got to hit driver off every par 4/5 - no significant doglegs like other courses in the area.

Being an empty course, the drink girls had nothing to do. Management was sending them out every 2-3 holes if we wanted something to drink. There were no concessions at the turn after 9, the hole 10 tee box only had restrooms. The course is hilly and wraps around the lake, but there weren't any great views surprisingly, just some partial views of the lake through some trees.

Beautiful layout of this track, would recommend playing this course. Staff very friendly, greens were in nice shape. Only a couple things.... first course was very hard, just in my opinion could've been watered more, there's a lake beside the course thought they'd water it more then it actually was... second foursome was in front of us (2) didn't even consider to allow us to play through, they were playing military golf... and maybe it isn't all that important yet no chipping green, not a deal breaker... other then that great course to play...

Greens were sandy and bumpy
Tees were scruffy with weeds
Fairways were bad
No beverage cart in golf course until the end of round
Senior fees are ridiculous
Way over priced!

I like the layout of the course a lot, as there are a fair number of holes that make you think beyond your driver without being gimmicky, and it's in a beautiful setting. They could have done a bit more to counteract the Fall Golf effects (had the greens been mowed this week, even?) but we were playing for reduced rates, so I'm not going to worry about that. I've marked them down because of the near total lack of attention to pandemic safety measures. Staff behind the desk, especially at the food counter, were unmasked and weren't even doing the "oh I just took it off for a minute" look of having one around their chin. There was also a table full of guys done with there round who has clearly finished their food and weren't wearing masks, either, and were just sitting inside talking. Anybody interested in minimizing the risk of taking Covid home to a vulnerable loved one should avoid this course, because they clearly don't much care about your well being.

Certainly has to be one of the best courses in the metro area. Love the layout and beauty of the course. I have played here many times but this was the slowest round I have had, hopefully it was an anomaly. The greens were a little more beat up than usual also. They have new carts this year with very comfy seats but the suspension is so stiff the bumps rattle your teeth and the cart paths are brutal in some places. I still love this course but it needs a little TLC.

3 nines up north feel after you leave the clubhouse you are in the wild! Rivals shepherds hollow as the best course in lower Michigan this course is a must play!

Awesome course. GPS on carts has helpful hints for approach shots and where to set it off the tee. Friendly staff, a little more expensive than some of the other courses in the area but very well maintained . Will definitely be back

I will play it again but the course had noon scramble go off 1 hour before our tee time which we quickly caught up to. No mention of this when we reserved tee times. Almost 3 hour back nine. Also the seats on the carts are black, they were hot all day. Not very smart thinking on that one, black roofs too. LMAO. But the course is great, betterbe a good putter out here.

Course is in great shape. Pretty challenging place. Would recommend to anyone.

Great course, new carts. Always a great experience playing at Majestic as this course is top 3 within 50 miles of Brighton

FIrst tee time off the box as a solo is always great.
Cold yet very playable. I only have one issue. Love 19-27 but can't play often unless you only want to play 9 or 36. Still the front side around the lake is a good trac. See you next year.

course in great shape. greens fast but fair! beautiful layout. had great time with golfnow player John.. my favorite Brighton area course

One of the best courses in the state. Excellent conditions . Very well manicured beautiful lay out. Worth every penney.

Mr. Fountian runs a tight ship...staff is polite and does everything to make you feel comfortable

This course is huge. I love the open links. The course wraps around a lake. Which makes for beautiful views. Also the course is laid out so your not playing on top of other groups. Highly recommend this course.
