Thinking man's course
While Antioch Hills lacks a little in length, it redeems itself with massive doglegs and strategically placed hazards. There is seldom a hole that you can just blast away at the ball and be in good standing. This course weaves through beautiful hardwoods and northern Michigan pines, with water following you most of the way. The front is a little more open, while the back is tighter and many of the greens are guarded. New ownership has improved the condition of the course greatly. They have continued to make improvements throughout the summer, and I am very impressed. I think it plays a touch harder than the rating and slope would lead you to believe. Room for error is small and you're forced to play a lot of long irons from the tee boxes. The greens could be a little faster, but that doesn't take away from the experience. Bring your thinking cap and take some time to play this little gem!
