Absolutely rude snobs
I've never experienced more rude people at a clubhouse in 15 years of golfing. They act as if you're wasting their time if you don't have a $3k/year membership to their facility.
They had only 2 fountain drinks available and no food for sale. For being as expensive as it was, you'd think they'd have a few options to eat and drink.
Their hours are open until 7 on Sundays, but since we were the only people left golfing (he "decided" to close at 6 and claimed he needed the cart back)
We have golfed at the other courses in Columbus when we go, and never have had any issues with any staff.
However, here, we've never felt more disrespected at any course, and we've played all over Nebraska. Needless to say, we will not be returning and will not be recommend this course to anyone.
Very unpleasant experience
People are saying the employees are rude and obnoxious, this is an understatement. Course was in very rough shape and no amenities were accessible.
We will never be returning. My girlfriends and I were very disrespected here.
Elks Course
I played this course on a Thursday and had an early tee time, so we did not have any traffic in front of us.
The good. There are some challenging holes, especially when you you have a strong north or south wind. We played the course a few days after the Nebraska open so the setup was still pretty tough but fair. 16 is a tough hole. Stay right.
The not so good. The staff there is about as friendly as a toothache. While they make the course available on a limited basis to non-club members, they discourage it as much as they can. For a club, the overall conditions are average. I would take several public courses including Highlands or Southern Hills over this one. I would play it again, but its not a bucket list course.
WELL CARED FOR
Played here many times over the years and Love the lay out. It is very well cared for by the crew. The PGA pro has a lot of pride in the place.
It is very walkable for an old guy like me. The down side is the place is over 100years old and the Trees are big and plentiful. The greens are pop up style common to the early 1900's
Personally really enjoy playing here. I think you will too.
it is Semi-Private so call ahead and they will work you in.
