The Melreese golf course at International Links is where Tiger Woods made his first professional appearance in south Florida. The championship course, which has six sets of tees, features rolling fairways and large, undulating greens. It is a tight golf course featuring five lakes that come into play on 14 holes. To make up for the damages caused by Hurricane Andrew, the golf course has been outfitted with replanted tall live oak and palm trees that can affect shots. There are also nearly 100 sand bunkers present on the course. The Melreese course's signature hole is the par-4 14th, which is nicknamed "Heartbreak Ridge." It has water alongside the right side of the fairway all the way from the tee to the green, and it requires an approach shot past water to an island green. The International Links facility also offers a lighted driving range and putting green.

Never again
Tha course was in a terrible condition. I don't know how they can charge so much money for it. We found out later, that the Golfcourse will be closed down in 2 weeks time.
Unbelievable slow pace of play and couldn’t even finish the round
I know the course is closing soon but this was egregiously bad. We teed off 30 minutes past our tee time and finished the front nine in close to 3 hours as the course was absolutely packed.
Couldn’t even finish
This placid a shame because it has so much potential but the pace of play is so horrible we weren’t even able to complete the full 18 holes. We had to stop at hole 11 because the sun went down and there was no way of playing ahead. Mind you, we had a a child with two adults behind us with no etiquette who almost hit us 4 times. For the price, I would rather play somewhere I could actually play the full 18 within a reasonable time.
Left after 5 holes
Pace of play was unbelievably horrible. They allowed 3 two some groups who looked like it was their first round of golf take wayyyy too much time. They would swing and miss or hit it 20 feet and kept walking to their ball, never picked up and left the golf cart in the middle of the hole as they walked around to get their balls. It took us 2 hours and we only got though 5 holes. A complete waste of $400.
Great Course, Poor Pace of Play
Let me start off my saying that this course is great in terms of conditions and layout. Fast greens, nice fairways and not extremely difficulty. However, the pace of play is the poorest I’ve seen, especially on the weekend. If you are going to book this course, do it on a weekend and early afternoon to beat the sunset.
This one is special
The tiftdwarf grass make this course a spectacular place to play. Ball runs for ever and the greens are some of the fastest pace in Miami. By far has to be one of the best oublic access golf courses around. I have already booked my next round and I am ready to hit it again… supposedly scheduled to be closed down to build new soccer stadium so book and play if you can it is a must absolute must play…
Nice Layout
Surprisingly a nice layout and I would recommend to play. Check the green condition first as they were not great when I played.
First time player
If you’re a local resident of the City of Miami or have the premier card, this course is worth the money. I can’t justify the +$100 price point otherwise. Drainage after a rain storm the day before was poor, which made the pace of play even slower. We had to go off the back 9 first, as the starters allowed 3 groups of 4 to play together in front of us. This put us in front of the first tee time group at the turn, and they were not happy about that either. Our cart was in shambles, with no tread on the tires and a visible plug in the tire sidewall. I guess that’s what happens when the future of this beautiful layout is in question. There should also be nets along the east, west and south sides of the course as they are along major highways and a school/park. The average golfer is going to shank one into traffic and cause an accident.
Great course, bad course management
It was 4th of July and we had a BBQ to go to at 2:30. Tee Time was 10am. The course was slammed. We were a twosome. When we started the starter said pace of play was a 4.5 hour 18. Which is fine by me. By 12:00pm we were teeing up on 6. We had to call it by 1:30 because we were so frustrated with the waiting and people trying to play through on a slammed day. They need to do their research and lengthen the tee time interval instead of being greedy and taking more players. It ruined the experience.
