Local Spot
This is a sneaky hard course. Although it seems like it plays straight on some holes, the greens are small and there is a lot going on around them.
Putting seems to be most challenging, as mentioned above; the greens are small, and also are fast.
The rough was also pretty challenging to hit out of. I had a solid chunk out of the rough because my ball was about 4 inches into the rough. TOUGH.
I didn't play my best round, but I found myself hitting some quality shots regardless.
Watch out for children playing on the fairway; they will steal your balls, and talk some smack to you (on the back 9).
Bar inside with food. Can't beat it. Beautiful course in the Ocean County area.
Hidden gem for any type of golfer
I would consider this my local course I am not a member but I have played a ton of rounds here the greens are the best part about the classic tree lined course its very playable for your low handicapper and can be pretty brutal on your beginners because its seems like the rough eats golf balls here in the open area of the tree lines but still with that being said it shouldn't play as a very difficult course. I know some of the staff personally and they're good people good food at the tartan grille, good place to play an outing. Its great for the money and usually has great pace of play.
Nice Course
First time playing this year and course is in great condition. The only condition issue is that there are stones in most of the sand traps. Also strange how the starter squeezed multiple groups out on the course without tee times.
Ya gotta figure that sometimes "membership" sometimes gets special privileges... Great course thou isn't it...totally unexpected for the area.
