Great value
Great course for the price! Corse was in great induction and was able to get the round in in three and a half hours.
You will use every club in your bag
Hickory Ridge is a blast to play.
You start off with a couple of wide open holes, and then the course just tightens up. The greens are a bit tricky and they were in great shape.
Hickory Ridge has some of the most unique golf hoes anywhere in the area.
It's about 50 miles from home, so we don't get there too often, but I can certainly say that we can't wait to go back.
Challenging but fair
This course is a nice challenge for the money. It really takes advantage of elevation changes but also has some nice easy holes as well. Some narrow fairways can be challenging from the back tees. Overall, it was fun and tested my skills.
hidden Gem
Quiet little course tucked away outside of rochester
A good play
Had a good day on a course that will challenge your shot making skills and distance from blue tees.
Don't judge it by the RV park and clubhouse
I wasn't impressed at first look but glad I stayed and played. It was a fun and interesting course. A variety of challenging holes and looks. I did lose a couple balls.
Need of a Marshall forr slow play
After the mixed foursome had hit their 8th shots apiece and not being on the 1st green, I mentioned it to the Starter and was told that there wasn't a Marshall today. We passed them on the 2nd hole and finished up 18 as they were finishing the 9th!
Nice course
I love the layout. Good mix of holes where you can let it rip and ones that require accurate yardage and placement. Everyone was very friendly.
Great round
Had a great time. Met some new friends & plan on doing it again
Very Nice Course
Staff was very friendly, everything from the greens to the tee boxes were in really good shape.
Cups and tee boxes need repair!
Booked it two hours before tee time.
Looked like the tee boxes haven't been maintained in weeks. The fairways were mowed and flowers were in bloom and were a nice touch. The greens had many spike marks (teed off late morning) and the cups were beat up, pieces loose all over the rim. Felt bad for the folks playing the weekend.
Great, friendly course
This was a nice course a little out east of Rochester. Plaid with family while visiting. COULD NOT beat the value. It was a simple course with only a couple really tricky holes. It was perfect for being a casual golfer and out catching up with family. The facilities were nice, the value was unbeatable, and the staff could not have been friendlier!
waste of time
First off the fairway had no noticeable difference in cut to the rest of the rough or grass growing in the woods. Lost several balls in what was supposed to be a fairway. Pace of play and nonexistent staff was a huge problem. Course let out 4 2-somes and didn't ask or even tell anyone to pair up. Round also took 5.5 hours because of a 4some that had a teenage girl in the group that was learning to play. Everyone has to learn to play somewhere but i shouldn't have to play ranger myself and go ahead 4 groups to tell them not to take all day, but then again i had to wait 15 minutes at every tee box so i had the time to kill. Only staff member working that i could see was at the front desk taking money, and one person in the kitchen cooking. A starter, or ranger would have solved the problem and gotten our round done an hour and a half earlier. Also, no excuse for the poor conditions. Hasn't rained in over a week why is your fairway not cut? why is nothing cut? are all of your mowers broken ? Don't know how they expect to get you to come back. Avoid this course or expect a bad day is all i can tell you.
Very fun course to play
This course provided elevation changes not typically seen in Western New York. Very fun to play.
awesome coarse
awesone coarse cant Wait to go back everybody really enjoyed ThemSelves
hickory ridge
the young gentleman that greeted us was amazing, very polite, went way out of his way to make sure we had a great time, we will be back for sure very fun and challenging course, our foursome are average golfers, again thank you young man for everthing
Great course for a great price
This course was a little more challenging for me as a relatively new golfer than the easy 9 hole courses I usually play at home, but it was still very enjoyable.
If you can get a special or a discount, this course can be a tremendous value. It is well-maintained and the staff was very accommodating.
The only drawback was the pace of play. Granted, it was Sunday afternoon on Memorial Day weekend, so the fact that we were still able to get a good price on a round on such a popular day is worth noting. However, we had to bail after the 13th hole in order to make a dinner date with family, but we could have finished our round in approximately 4-4.5 hours. I had naively hoped to do it in 3.5 as a twosome but the holiday weekend had other plans.
I will definitely consider playing here again next time I'm visiting family in the area. Though I may shoot for an early morning tee time or avoid holiday weekends, but that's almost always the case no matter where you play.
Friendliness
This golf course is located on a RV site also called Hickory Ridge and from the staff " Marie " at the RV site to all the other personal they are their to make your stay as much fun as possible. The 17th hole is rated number 1 toughest. It plays roughly 375 yards from the whites and is a dog leg left. Your first shot should be 225 yards down the middle and you will be left with 150 yards to a very elevated green. Because of this steep elevation if you have difficulty walking you should consider renting a chart.
