Great course
I went here last weekend and loved it. I thought the course was well spaced and the greens were in great condition! I’m attending again tomorrow with a friend because I loved it so much!
Terrible AVOID
Staff is terrible, course is terrible, trash everywhere bunkers are gravel. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had golfing.
OK for the price, but...
This used to be Marvin's golf club.
But time has taken its toll leaving the clubhouse/grounds with a dilapidated appearance.
What appeared to be a former swimming pool is covered in weeds and surrounded by a fence that has seen its better days.
Weeds also filled the flower beds.
Pro shop is minimal.
Bought a bucket of balls for the driving range.
They are not yellow range balls but rather white discards (various 2nd tier brand names) and at least half were caked with dirt.
When I asked if they could be at least cleaned, the man in the pro shop said they didn't have a machine to clean them. I wanted to say 'Well, how about having someone at least get a wet rag on them?'
What's the point of hitting mud covered range balls?
The driving range was equally unkempt, long grass and not manicured at all.
Now the course itself was in decent shape.
Probably the best part of the experience were the greens. Really decent.
The layout is fairly short even from the back (blue) tees - 6,200 yards
And some of the tee shots had large trees in strategic places that made it challenging from the back tees.
One par 3 on the back 9 had a large tree that blocked a good part of the green!
And some holes were interesting on this mostly flat layout.
Carts are gas which means a noisy ride.
All in all, OK for the price but they need to get their act together and present at least a professional golf experience, from the overall appearance to the driving range.
I'm giving this course a 'C'.
Nice greens, but course doesn't honor promotions
Overall a nice course - well kept and greens were in great shape.
However, they don't honor their promotions. Showed up on Labor Day for an early morning tee time with a Hole In One Golf Book coupon to try the course out. According to the coupon, it could be used anytime weekdays, and after 12pm on weekends. Since it was a Monday, I assumed the coupon would be honored. I was wrong. The gentleman working that morning wouldn't accept the coupon, saying that it was a "misprint" and that the owner had intended it to include holidays in the after 12pm restriction. Regardless of intent, the printed coupon didn't restrict holiday usage, so I was very disappointed and irritated that they wouldn't accept it.
The cost was only $35, but that was over double what I had expected to pay, in addition to driving nearly a half an hour to the course. I got some runaround about how "younger guys like me" would come in and expect to be able to use the coupon while the retired guys who normally play don't use it. Not sure what he was driving at, but the point of a promotional coupon like the Hole In One Golf Book is to bring new players to your course.
Needless to say, I won't be going back here. It was a solid course, but I don't particularly like giving businesses that don't honor advertised deals my money.
The course is in great condition.
This course is a good value for the money. There are some challenging holes, but overall it is not very difficult. You need to play from the back tees to provide a good challenge. I really enjoyed myself. The staff was very friendly.
Friendly Easy Course
This course got a bit of challange in the obstacle you will find in your way: ex.: Trees on your Drive on No. 1 - par 4. Bunkers sand is hard and starts to be overgrow on the edges. But it is a very good deal for a 20$... Go Play!
Outstanding Value
Played this course with my father and we had a great time. He only hits the ball 125-150 yds with his driver, so we played from the red tees. They were a perfect distance for him and were a lot of fun for me as several holes were drivable par 4's or reachable par 5's. While I didn't score great, it made for a fun experience. My dad enjoyed it as well and had his best score in years.
Course was in good shape and pace of play was excellent as we completed our 18 hole round in about 3 hours and 20 mins. On our short list for future outings!
Crooked pines golf course
This course was fine even though it had rained the previous night and also all morning. There were some wet spots, but we had expected that. We had a great time.
Overall, it was well worth the money we paid and the staff was friendly..
Great bang for your buck
Crooked Pines is a decent little course, not too long, not too short, well maintained, fairly wide open so you can spray it a little, but enough trees to keep you honest. Friendly staff, gave me a small cooler with ice after I bought some beer from them. Greens are in good shape. For $20 it was a great bargain!
Course is not in great shape - extremely wet and has not drained well.
The cart needed maintenance; the staff acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me play there; and, the course was extremely wet - apparently does not drain well. I would not go back...
Course wasin good shape and maintained.
A great value for the money, when booked through Golf Now. Nice course layout although some of the holes are a little close to each other as we had a couple of errant tee shots land near us.
