Good for what it is - greens could be faster
If this course was well maintained it’d be a $100+ round.
The green complexes are great, they’re just really slow and full of pitchmarks (come on people fix your ball marks!)
If the greens got turned up to a 9-10 on the stimp, this would be a ton of fun.
While short, it still had some challenging holes, and the front 9 along the water was delightful.
The 11th or 12th hole by the sewage treatment plant was awful.
All In all, worth a play if you’re out east. I’m going to
Keep this in the regular late afternoon rotation.
It’s okay for what it is
Played it for the first time today because tee times on Long Island are few and far between. The course isn’t long by any stretch but I bet when the wind is up, the course shows it’s teeth. There are some interesting lines you can take and some blind shots which gives some risk reward. The back 9 and front feel like two different courses which is cool. The greens we firm and medium paced. Out of the Suffolk courses I think it falls behind timber and bergen with its conditions. I would like to see them put more TLC into it
Great value
With the drought we're in this course remains in great shape. Greens were even little soft and slow. Great value for a well maintained course
May golf
Greens are slow from the rain. Fairways and rough and traps in great shape. Good course to walk.
Fluke Day In March
Course in great shape for winter! Greens rolling good and fairways excellent and dry. Bunkers in good shape too! Love the Green key because price is great! Pin placements pretty difficult for public golf course and greens. Love that the course is flat and wide open.
Great value
It's a great course and great for the money. Tee boxes were also good. Fairways good. Greens were slow.
Nice Middle Of The Week Day
The tee boxes were bare. The fairways had some bare spots. The 18th green looks like it had some kind of disease. Greens are very slow for my liking. Overall cant except anymore due to the long rain storms we had.
SAINT PATRICK'S DAY WEEKEND
The track was in okay shape. Due to the mild winter and not much snow. The greens aren't reading true and no putts are lining up. Greens are punched. You have to except it for this early in the season. Good to get some swings in.
Come on man
This course has the field of the British open with brown fairways and brown greens. The superintend it should be either given a raise for the great accomplishment or fired for the poor conditions of the fairways and greens. If you play any other county or state courses they are in much better shape. this course has potential it’s just too bad the county doesn’t put much back into this course. Maybe if the people who ran the county parks play there it would improve. They need someone who can turn this place around.
Summer Golf
Great track for the price. Course is in great shape. Fun par 5s and 4s and 3s. Greens a little slow. Tuff pin placement.
Indian Island GC
Great track for beginner golfers. It's a generic simple golf course. The greens are slow. Staff is Great! For a green key it's a great deal. Senior players get a good deal. Fairways are wide open. It's a short track. You could even walk the course.
Indian Island GC
The fairways were so beat up! I guess because alot of golfers play there cause it's cheap. But since it's the end of the season can't expect much. Greens were good and rolling true speed. Sand traps awful with rocks in them more like a dirt traps. But for a twilight deal with cart and green key. It's a steal. It was a nice fall day to be out there.
Indian Island GC
Played Indian Island for the first time. For the green key it isn't a bad price. The only down side is that the fairways were beat up. Greens were in great shape. The Par 5s are very short and fun to get on in two. Par 4s are short. Par 3s are long 200 plus yards. Course has a great drainage system. Only down side is the holes are to close together and pretty much on top of each other. Will definitely play here again. It's a very generic course and definitely suited all skill levels.
Great Local Track
Great local golf course with very reasonable greens fees. I have played a few dozen times and I have always been paired up with the nicest people. Generally a locals' course, filled with regulars. Some shorter par 5's and a challenging par 3's make the course a lot of fun to play. I would highly recommend this to anyone who finds themselves in the area.
