Awesome day of golf
A tremendous experience all around. From lunch on the patio outside (weather perfect). The caddy experience was wonderful. The course was in A+ condition. The routing is phenomenal. The pace was great. A celeb in front of us that recognized one of my better shots of the day. Everything from driving up to reluctantly driving home couldn’t have been better. Staff was EXTRA nice. Hope to get back some day.
One of the great classics
I can't rave enough about my day at Sleepy Hollow. I showed up a single and was treated like family by the member and his wife (and their guest) I was paired with by the starter. I loved the modern nuances brought by Gil Hanse during his renovation around 2008. He opened up vistas and exposed rock outcroppings by clearing thousands of trees. I know one former member who doesn't like the changes, but it's hard not to love the improved conditioning and playability the changes brought. Its collections of par 3s are stellar, from the 'haunted bridge' to the 16th hole overlooking the majestic Hudson River. Spending the night in the historic mansion of a clubhouse was just the cherry on top of a great Sunday. And, as a fan of golf logos, it doesn't get any better than the headless horseman.
