UNC Finley Golf Course

Davis Love III you tricky greens master! Fun course, mostly in great condition (minus a few of the greens that had some bad winter damage). Despite the 30 minute rain delay finish a good round in about 4 hrs. Would definitely play again when in the area. Course staff was extremely friendly and paired me up with a member to get me out early to try and beat the bad weather.

First time playing Finley since the remodel and was very disappointed. Still enjoy the layout but the greens and tee boxes were absolutely horrible, even had a mat on one of the par 3’s. Have played courses this year in much better shape for $100 less per player, so definitely the worst value I have ever experienced on a golf course.

Great layout, really nice associate after the round that was apologetic for the greens. They have really struggled through the re-do. I am guessing by mid June they will be better, just be prepared.

Course is in fantastic shape outside of 2 greens. Practice range is fantastic, chipping area is great, new 18 hole style (thistle dew) style putting green is awesome. New pro shop and grill are super modern and tons of great apparel.
5 hour round mid-day Saturday was the only “complaint”. Staff was super friendly!

Do not waste the amount of money they charge. Greens were horrible. Dead spots on most greens. Many of the tee boxes were dirt. Honestly I paid alot of money to play here with my sons and we were all so disappointed.

They really have some nerve chargimg what they do.

Never started in par 3 par 4 par 3. Didn’t feel right

Cart path only as UNC hosting big collegiate event in a few weeks. Necessary? One downside is few golfers brought divot mix with them to their balls.
Layout is a fun one. Conditions left something to be desired. Several tee boxes mostly divot mix. Greens had lots of sand and dust on them. Very good practice area; one of better ones out there. Four stars would be a reach on this date, if I am being fair.

We've played here 3 times and it seems like this course stays cart path only. It's not friendly to pace of play as the path is very far away from fairway. Taking 2-3 clubs to every shot because the distance changes by 10-25yds from what the cart says at path and where it reads from fairway w range finder is ridiculous. Will not play here again if carts are on path. The course is great otherwise and you will use most of your clubs in bag as you have to move the ball. Love the challenge and conditions.

Come Early to warm up on the range. Stay late to play 18 on the world class putting green. The course is challenging. I'm a 14 handicap and played well to shoot an 83. The layout inspires confidence and allows golfers of all levels to compete. I will definitely be back to play again soon.

Tough course, with challenging layout throughout. A little repairs getting done but all worth it. We’ll be back.

Not a big fan of the funky changes that Davis Love III made to give golf team more land. It was a much better layout before. But I guess he did the best he could with what he had. It is not worth the money they’re asking.

The change that was made seemed self serving and doesn’t reflect the previous standards the course layout had previously. I’m not a fan of the design. Over priced now and not worth the money.
