Not bad
Not a bad course. Tee boxes need some attention. Hitting the fairway is key on this course. I feel like it is slightly overpriced. I know other courses in the area that can be cheaper and are a much better course. However, I would definitely play this course again
Spring in the winter
Course was surprisingly in good condition Fairways were average greens were great sand traps were an Abomination and the Pace of the play was going to the dentist however I would go back again
Sold
Course is still open for business but I heard it has been sold for housing
Best course in Raelgh
Love this golf course. Beautiful lakes. Fairways are cleared of leaves so ball is easy to find. Greens are really well maintained.
Sad to see it go.
I've been playing here for over a year now. It's been my go-to place in the Raleigh area. The course offers a unique relaxed setting with some challenging holes. I've become a better player at this course and it sucks that it's being sold. I'll be out there as much as I can until then.
Played with my wife who is a beginner
She loved it even though there were a few
Water holes.
Will definitely return.
Great course
It was my first time playing here. I love the course and it will be my favorite. The layout is easy to follow. The greens are in excellent shape.
Neat Course
Have played Lakeshore several times and always enjoy playing there. The course has several unique holes which make playing there interesting. The pace has been slow the last couple rounds, but not an issue I have noticed before. Lakeshore is an inexpensive treat for golfers of all types.
Nice track, not well maintained
The course layout is really neat with a lake for a driving range and some cool holes that wind over and around the lake. But the course itself is in rough shape, with beat up tee boxes, weeds, and slow greens. Even the cart paths are bumpy and cracked. I think it was a little expensive for the conditions at $35. Fairly easy course I shot 77 and couldn't get the ball in the hole with slow bumpy greens.
Enjoyable Round
Visiting from out of town. Very well laid out course with a great mix of challenging and some less difficult holes to suit all skill levels. Fairways in poor condition however the greens were country club quality! Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good value overall.
Value course and sneaky fun
Full disclosure this is my "home" course as I've lived near it for 15 years now but I am impressed with the course. As most of the people around here know the course is being sold to a developer. Most courses would see a definite drop off in conditions but this is the oppposite. The course has improved since last year. Greens are slow and they don't have much break but they are also flawless. Fairways are in best shape I've seen in a long time too. Tee boxes are iffy. This is a very short course, target golf mostly. But being a shorter hitter like me and being able to go at par 5s with a long iron if you hit a good drive is refreshing. Place won't win any awards
for amenities but carts are clean and Chip (course pro) is always pleasant to deal with. For under $35 on a weekend in the condition it is now and being 5 mins from RTP/Brier Creek/540, this is a steal. If you have never played it do so soon as it likely won't be around after this winter.
Overpriced/Easy/Bad Condition
For the $40 I spent through the GolfNow app, I was very disappointed. The course was very very short. From the furthest tees it was only 5700 yds. I have never seen a course that short and easy. I shot a 66. I have never shot better than 68 in my life and I didnt even play that well. I was easily driving par 4s and the par 3s only required short iron to wedge. The conditions were dried out and the fairways were indistinguishable from the rough. Overall, it was overpriced and not what I was looking for at all.
Can't beat the bang for the buck
$25 with a cart before 3PM during the summer?? Can't beat those prices! It's no Pebble Beach, but their holes are diverse, their staff is attentive and polite, their carts are pristine, and they will even fill up your cooler with ice for free. If I could buy stock I would.
