Riverlands Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/19/2025Condition Needs Improvement
I’ve played here many times. The tee markers this time were often on ground adjacent to the tee boxes. The greens were not rolling true. Quite a bit of bouncing off line.
I’ll come back when conditions improve.

Played On 02/05/2025Good shape for winter
The staff is always great. For winter time the fairways and greens were in good shape. Playing on a weekday morning we breezed along.

Played On 10/16/2024Fantastic Day
Finally a cooler day in the low 60s. Three club wind made it a bit more challenging. Course is in awesome shape. Staff, as always was great.
I teed off as a single at 9:15. Didn’t see another player until the back nine. Never had to wait to hit a shot and I didn’t rush any shots. Putted out on 18 at 11:20. Scored in the low 80s and really enjoyed the morning.

Played On 09/30/2024Better this time
Last time two weeks ago they had sanded greens and we played (as a 2-some) very slowly behind a 5-some.
This time my 4-some sailed through in 3.5 hours. Greens were good.

Played On 09/16/2024Fivesome….Really
For 5 days after a hurricane the course was in good shape. Greens were sanded but rolled fairly true and were somewhat quick; especially on aggressively struck chips.
The Hot Deal price made it a good value. The staff is very friendly.
My twosome played the last 6 holes behind a fivesome apparently comprised of 20 somethings. We were never asked to play through even though they saw us waiting on every shot. They drove carts right up to the greens and ignored the cart path only signs on 17. IS FIVESOMES A COMMON PRACTICE HERE?????
A threesome of more experienced players did let us through on 10. Thanks gents.

Played On 03/07/2024Course in Good Condition
Staff is excellent. The course was in good shape except for the bunkers. Rain for several days had something to do with that.
Pace of play was great on the front 9.
It got backed up on the back 9 with 2 groups sometimes waiting by the same tee box.
Overall it was a fun round.

Played On 02/07/2024Greens in Great Shape
It was typical winter golf a few days after heavy rain. Cart path only but fairways were playable.
Greens were in excellent condition.
The staff as always was superb.
The trees were rude as they continually hit my tee shots 😂.

Played On 01/19/202449 Degrees. N wind at 17. But we played
It also rained the day before but we had a great time. Never had to wait. Greens were great.

Played On 12/27/2023Sand on greens
Played a few days after the Sunday rain so the course was wet in spots, especially holes 1-5. This was not a surprise and doesn’t affect my rating. I was disappointed to see so much sand on the greens. I had played the course recently and thought it was in good winter shape with no sand on the greens.
Lakewood Golf Club
Played On 12/13/2023Not in its normal shape
Typically Lakewood is in great shape with regard to tee boxes, fairways and greens. The tee boxes had some bare, uneven spots. The fairways were a little bare but I attribute this to a lack of rain this year. The greens were fast, which I like, but had several sandy spots.
The staff is always great and I really like the layout.

Played On 11/08/2023Tees boxes and bunkers need work.
The greens were in decent shape as were the fairways. The tee boxes were all blocked off for renovation. The bunkers should have been labeled Ground Under Repair as they were mostly packed dirt.
I do like this course and hope the fixes happen soon.

The course is in real good shape. The greens rolled very true.

Played On 02/15/2023Great Value
The staff, as always was friendly and helpful. The course is in great shape for mid-February. The greens rolled very true with good quickness. The pace of play was what you would hope for on a Wednesday. The Hot Deal price was very fair.
They designated only 4 holes as cart path only as opposed to taking the easy way out by saying ALL.

Played On 02/05/2023Lost the Greens
I’ve played many rounds here. As usual the staff was great.
The normally good greens were in horrible condition today. Putting was like playing Plinko. Hopefully in the next few months the greens will be restored. It’s a fun and challenging course to play.

Played On 05/04/2022The effort put into maintenance shows
Maintenance crews have clearly been working very hard to upgrade the course conditions. The greens are rolling very truly. Fairways are in good shape. Bunkers look good (was fortunate to avoid them).
Keep up the good work.

The greens, fairways and bunkers are in really good shape. Kudos to the course maintenance crew.

Played On 04/20/2022FIVESOME nightmare
As usual the staff was friendly. The ‘character’ of some of the holes was greatly changed by Ida. So many trees have been removed as a result of the hurricane. Coming out of the winter months the course conditions were about what I expected for my $23.00. The greens (browns) are not in the best of shape at the moment. Hopefully spring weather and some good care will remedy that problem. The fairways were in surprisingly decent shape.
My complaint is the pace of play. As my threesome stopped behind the 5th tee box (par 3) , watching the threesome ahead of us tee off, they warned us about what was ahead of them. They said they would have let us through except for what they experienced on the prior holes. So I looked at the 6th hole (par 5). Well this is lovely.
A FIVESOME was around the 6th green. A single was in the fairway waiting to hit onto the green and ANOTHER SINGLE was on the tee box. Watching the FIVESOME play EXCRUCIATING SLOWLY we ‘snail paced’ along through holes 7-11. On each hole we sat behind a tee box while the threesome ahead of waited for the FIVESOME to clear the fairway. Somewhere around the 8th the singles either were let through (doubtful) or skipped ahead. After the 11th, as the FIVESOME was walking off the 12th, we made the convenient skip ahead to the 14th. Note that the 13th was wide open as were the 14th-18th. As we driving across the bridge to the 18th green the FIVESOME was headed to the 16th tee. We didn’t bother to go back to play 12&13.
This the second at Riverlands time in the past few months that I have skipped from the 11th to the 14th because of a FIVESOME . Either ban FIVESOMES or educate them to say “Play through.”
Cypress Lakes Country Club
Played On 02/11/2022Greens disappointing
I’ve been playing this course for over 30 years. I have never seen the greens like this. Some patchy crab grass and sand spots.
I enjoy the layout and the challenge and variety.

Played On 11/24/2021Hurricane Ida changed the course
I really like the course but hurricane Ida took out several key trees. From my perspective the most severely impacted/changed holes were numbers 4,7,8,10 and 17. The green on 8 is no longer protected by a tree.
Typically the pace of play on a weekday is great. This time we were a threesome playing behind a twosome that had a slow playing FIVESOME in front of them. I really don’t know if the FIVESOME tried to let them through or not but after a few holes we jumped ahead by skipping from number 10 to number 14.
The greens and fairways were in good shape.

Course overall in good shape. Ida took a lot of trees down. Sad to see. Staff as always very friendly.
