Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 08/23/2020Pace was terrible
Had a 7:50 tee time. So you figure pace would be still fairly open. When we should have been on deck, the 1st was stacked and was told that we were 30 minutes behind and there was a twosome that is causing the bottleneck. We were informed that they had no Marshalls and that the GPS will tell groups if they are falling behind. The started then would tell each group behind the next that that group was a bunch of complainers about being bottlenecked. Our round was just over 5 hours. But I don't think it was just that twosome, as both courses seemed to have stacked up starting groups. Other than that. The course layout is great, nice to see large trees with plenty of shade to try and escape the heat.
Riverchase Golf Club
Played On 07/26/2020Pace was terrible
first time playing this course in two years. The which of 1 and 10 was a good call. It took us just over 5 hours for the round because it was very stacked up. The greens were in good shape, but the fairways are pretty beat up, bumpy, very bumpy, also they need to sand the drainage lines that are obviously ran across the fairways.

for such a great layout they sure fall short on everything. The greens were in terrible shape. They don't tell you until you're on the starter box that they dealt with slit disease on the greens. But in reality the greens are completely destroyed and they're starting from scratch. We ended up playing a two putt max because it was watching blinko as the ball bounced around the green. The staff isn't very considerate of any sort of hospitality experience. Pace of play is always stacked up. So if you like 5 hour plus rounds, this may be your course.
Such great potential if they cared about the course and how they treat their guests.
Eldorado Country Club
Played On 01/19/2020Tight fairways
This course had a great layout and was able to incorporate some elevation to the flat layouts of Dallas. The fairways were very tight and Eldorado planted trees close on both sides. Don't end up in the rough or you'll be practicing your punch shots to stay under the tree line.

This is the course I was needing. It has challenge holes where you know you shouldn't hit the driver, or you should lay up. Great course if you are looking to improve your approach shots, and make smart choices.

Thank you for your 5-star review. We are happy to hear that you had a positive experience on the course. We are looking forward to having yuo back in the future.
Ocotillo Golf Club - White/Gold
Played On 06/16/2018Grab a course map!!
I love playing this course because of how challenging it is and forces you to play strategic target golf. I say grab a course map because there are hills you play that water is waiting just on the other side. Course is built for the more accurate player. One bit of criticism is the grill onsite. If you're trying grab food at the turn; hot dogs are the safe bet. Since they make it all from scratch, so if you wait to order. You could be sitting there for 15 minutes.
It's a fun course, definitely a must play if you're in the south part of the Valley.
Whirlwind Golf Club - The Devil's Claw Course
Played On 06/15/2018Absolutely beautiful
The course is in amazing condition. The pace of play was perfect. Some very beautiful holes. Devil's Claw is forgiving to the four times a year player. What a great value for the price. I highly recommend getting out this course.

Played On 05/06/2018What a great round
The course played great. The beverage cart came around 4 times while we were out there. The pace of play was amazing, we never caught group ahead of us, and we stayed ahead of the group behind. This is still one of my favorite courses here in Dallas.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 05/05/2018Longest round in Dallas
I've played here over a dozen times. If you're not one of the first tee times out. Be prepared to get stacked up by hole 4. Luckily the weather was amazing when I had my 930 am tee time, but it was again a 5 1/2+ hour round. On hole 10, we sat at the tee box for 20 minutes for the group ahead of us, waiting on a group ahead of them. With two additional groups stacking up behind us.
Course management does nothing to keep a steady pace, and books the tee times too close. Great course if you have all day to play.

This course has a great layout for a "newer" player to advanced. Fun elevation changes and beautiful hole views.

Greens are amongst some of the best this winter. Had a frost delay. But that was expected.

I've always had fun on this course. Front 9 is a lot easier than the back 9. Fun layout, obtainable green in regulation.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 08/04/2017Prepare for a 6+ hour round
This used to be one of my favorite courses to play at. Frisco Lakes has a great and fun lay out. But the last three times that I've played the pace of play has gone down horribly.
We've been backup two groups deep at every tee box. We even called the clubhouse to have a marshall come out to see if the pace is one group. The marshall told us (as a foursome) that we were just playing too fast (Avg 18 minutes a hole).
If the weather was cooler and you want to spend the whole day on the course, it's worth it. But if you expect to get off within 5 hours... good luck.

Played On 07/03/2017Perfect for the average golfer
First time playing, found a great deal off the hot deals.
Great layout, had some challenging water holes. and target golf on some holes.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2017Pace of play was 6 hours
I played her on Sunday. They were booking tee times at 9 minutes apart. All the tee times started on time (mine was 9 am). But we quickly found by whole three from the Marshall that they had a party get out that was suppose to be 24 player turned into 36 players of amatuer golfers. They drug down the pace of play. We ended up leaving the course after hole 13 because we were waiting an average of 20 minutes sitting at each tee box. We left playing 13 holes in 3 hours and 44 minutes. I've been trying to get a rain check, or at least something, since I like this course a lot. It's beautiful and the right challenge, but haven't received a call yet, nor a callback.

I play here often, if it was closer to home, it would be my home course. The course is fairly easy with a few challenging holes. The course staff has always been great. I'll play her over and over again.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 04/15/2017Great play with some views
Amazing front 9, with some great laked holes. Very open in the part of the course. Back 9 has some more challenge with tighter fairways, but still a very forgiving course. Weather was a bit windy, club down to reach the pin.
Cart attendant had hot food in the cart, which was a huge plus.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/11/2017Great course and staff
Everything was perfect, from the excellent friendly staff to the pace of play. Looking for a variety of elevation to the difficulty of play. It's great for average player to good players.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
