Sanctuary Golf Club
Played On 02/22/2025Choice destination to play right now.
Overseeded and practically close to perfect conditions. Greens were awesome. Fairways and tee boxes great. Bunkers in awesome shape. Overall a great track right now.
Windy Harbor Golf Club
Played On 12/14/2024Greens excellent!
Greens have gone a little dormant for the season. But they are smooth and roll true like glass. Best and fastest I’ve ever seen them. Course in great shape. Worth getting a MWR card for free to play. Prob one of the best values in Jax area.
Hidden Hills Golf Course
Played On 11/08/2024Much improved
Haven’t played here in close to a year based on reviews this year from others. After watching my son play in his district tournament I noticed some improvements. I will say that the greens have improved greatly. They’re a little hairy/slow and could use a closer cut and maybe a roll but def much improved and rolled ok. There are a few with new sod spots but not much. Tee boxes were so so - still some that were very thin. Fairways were still a bit thin - which is a surprise to me since we’ve had tons of rain and hot weather this year. Overall I’d say compared to some closer courses HH is def taking steps to improve and I’d play here again. The only thing in our round which I didn’t like - as I’m assuming they were giving par 3 tee boxes a rest, was that all four par 3s had all tees moved up to like 80-90yds which didn’t make them very challenging - especially since 5 & 7 are fairly challenging holes from the blue tees and tips. All in all I enjoyed my round … especially a one hop and dunk for eagle from 100yds out on #8!

Played On 06/01/2024Always a great course ... but
Great day to play. Weather perfect. Tee boxes and fairways were perfect. Except ... the holes were punched and sanded. Nothing was stated on the teeoff.com website about them being punched so that was a bit disappointing. It was already a "twilight" rate, but should have been discounted a bit further because of green conditions. Was a bumpy round. The other thing is that it seems almost everytime I play QH, the hold cutter is in a bad mood. Almost every hole was 3 paces or less from the edge of the green. (Some even under 8 ft. which made a difficult course, even more difficult with extremely tough pins and punched sandy greens.) It is what it is, but if the greens would have been rolling well, some of these pins would been almost impossible to even putt at. I know that sounds petty, and maybe so, but it always seems to be like that on the weekends.

Played On 08/23/2024Great course! Probably needed a marshall
Great course! In excellent shape. Needed a marshal to help pace of play. 14 person bachelor party ahead of us that we probably could have played through. Rain cam in a downpour and ended it half way through the 18th hole. But I’d still definitely come back. Worth the drive from Jacksonville.
Cimarrone Golf Club
Played On 12/07/2023Great shape and great price
Got a GolfNow hot deal. Weather was perfect. As other reviewers said the greens are a tad slow but still roll true. They aren’t super slow, but not lightning fast either. Everything else is in great shape. Water on practically every hole. Tee shot is a premium so keep it in play or bring plenty of balls. Will definitely play again. Got paired up with three good guys. Thoroughly enjoyed the round. Played in just under 4hrs.

Played On 11/24/2023Fun layout … except
Great layout. Greens were in great shape. Only maybe 1-2 tee boxes were a little suspect. Fairways were solid. The only thing the course needed was major work on the bunkers. All of them were in bad shape. Had white paint line around each. We assumed GUR so didn’t play out of them. Fairways are wide and really acceptable for a fun round of golf. Couple of great holes along the marsh with good views. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back. If the bunkers would have been in good shape it would have been 5 stars all around.
The Amelia River Club
Played On 10/28/2023In excellent condition!
Loved playing Amelia River. Weather was perfect. Course was in excellent shape. Greens rolled smooth and true. Fast but not overly fast as the slope on the greens would be too tough. But they looked amazing. The only negative (which isn’t really too much of a negative) was the lay three tee boxes had been overseeded with I think rye grass and hadn’t been cut so you were teeing it up in kind of rough. But just found a spot where there was a previous shot and it was no biggie. This is def the best course in the Amelia area for the money. Get a golf now deal and you won’t be disappointed.
Palm Valley Golf Club
Played On 09/04/2023Only good for working on your wedge gane
First the pros: they were super nice when you stop in to get a tee time. Never been there and pro shop guy showed me the layout of the course. Looks like they have a great driving range with top tracer that’s fairly new. I’d recommend that.
Now for the cons: basically a par three course. Two “par fours” one shirt par for and one that should be a long par three. But mostly just SW, PW, and GW all day. The greens are absolutely horrid. Don’t even bother putting on them. See pics. If you zoom in you’ll see tons of weeds and dead spots.
Super nice people, but definitely not worth my 30-40 min drive from the Ft. Caroline area.
The Yards
Played On 02/25/2023Sun niche course but 12 holes is a little weird.
Course in great shape. It’s kind of a weird setup with 12 holes - especially for the price when other corses in the area are the same price or cheaper and 18 holes. Don’t get the front yard back yard concept. 12 holes on the front yard (9 holes front nine and then three more par threes). With three more holes for the back yard (which are the same three holes in front yard plus three more holes). Why not just make it a 15 hole golf course? Other than that the greens were excellent. Massive slopes on a few. Bunkers excellent. One par 3 with a bunker in middle of green (the “black hole.” It’s fun playing every now and then but I wouldn’t do this 12 hole track regularly - especially with what they charge you to play 12 holes and you still have to pay for range balls. The restaurant (three palms grill) is excellent! One of the best meals in Jax.
Hidden Hills Golf Course
Played On 02/10/2023Disappointed in the condition
We’ve had a few cold days in Jax this winter but still disappointed in the conditions of the course. Have played here several times and I have to say this is probably the worst I’ve seen it. Greens had some weird striping that either made the ball bounce uncontrollably if going across it or it you pitted with it would take your ball down a stripe “lane” and make it go offline. All putts were hit and hope. The fairways weren’t just dormant, they were very thin and felt like hitting off hard pan. The tee boxes were completely beaten to death. Hoping warmer days helps them. The course is hard enough but even harder with bad playing conditions.

Played On 11/24/2023Fun layout.
Greens in great condition. A few were beginning to show some over seeding but still rolled nicely. Fairways were in good shape and fairly large and generous. It’s a fun layout with holes two and three going along the marsh. The only issue is that the bunkers were in bad shape. Each had white paint line around them (we assumed GUR) so if anyone got into them we just took releif outside of the bunkers. If the bunkers were filled with good sand and maintained this would be a five star course. Will still definitely go back and play it again. Especially since I had a good day and shot even par playing there for the first time!

Played On 11/17/2023Great course in great shape.
Course in good shape. Have played QH many times and live the layout. Not an easy course. Only common issue is pace of play. I’ve never had a round that was under 4 1/2 hrs. This could be due to its difficulty. But overall it’s a great place to play when you find a good deal time on Golf Now.
The Amelia River Club
Played On 02/24/2023Course in excellent shape
Such a great round. Course in awesome shape. Tees overseeded well. Greens smooth and rolling great. Couldn’t find anything wrong with the day except pace of play was a little slow but not horrible. Their new pro shop and fitting bays are awesome looking. I’ll definitely be back to play again.

Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing The Amelia River Club.

Played On 01/02/2023Love the course. Tee boxes are a bit rough right now.
Tee boxes are a rough but that’s understandable this time of year. Hard freeze during Christmas made the grass go dormant and now the tee boxes are fairly torn up. The driving range needs to be on mats during this part of the season unless they are going to overseed. No grass and so unfortunately I chunked several shots on the range before starting because it was like hitting out if a bunker. It didn’t help that I played my worst round of the year. But great pairing for three guys that were fun to play with.

Played On 12/09/2022Great course slow play.
Course is in great shape! Greens rolling well. Tee boxes and fairways excellent. But the pace in a Friday … oh my. Took 5 hrs and 5 min to play 18.
Queen's Harbour Yacht & Country Club
Played On 12/09/2022Course beautiful … pace ugly
Queens harbor is a great track. The greens are in great shape. - however the hole cutter must always be in a bad mood every time I play there. Most of the holes were literally on the most ridiculous slopes. I was paired with three other guys and the whole group complained about the pin locations. The pin on hole 4 was ridiculous. The pin was actually leaning at an angle because if the slope it was on. Kind of like a greenkeeper revenge tournament but just a regular day on the course. The other tough part was the pace of play. Waited on every hole. Any at the end of the day my Arccos app said it was a five hour round of golf. But the condition of the course made up for most of it. Always love playing here but today was slow as Christmas.
Sanctuary Golf Club
Played On 11/25/2022Hidden gem for SE GA and NE FL!
Worth the 50min drive from Jax. Course was very nice! Fairways perfect. Greens and fairways were overseeded (looked like rye grass) but whatever it was it was close to perfect. Stripes fairways. Great looking greens. Rolled true but not super fast. Holes that go into the marsh land as well. Large live oaks on the course. Great layout of hikes. Nice comfortable wide fairways. Just an overall great course to play. Will definitely be back!
Blue Cypress Golf Club
Played On 09/04/2022Good remodel
They’ve done a good job with the remodel of this course. Very short and very easy. Greens rolling well. Fairways filling in nicely. Two par fives should be long par fours. Overall a fun little track to play nine.
Blue Sky Golf Club
Played On 04/23/2022Highway robbery what they are charging to play this course.
This has potential to be a good course. It’s easy and short with wide fairways. Unfortunately several greens are in absolute horrific conditions. Only played the front 9 this time and 3 of the greens were literally dead. Nothing but sand. (Even the practice green was a sand pit.) The other greens were ok but many had weeds (poa annua) growing on them. Several even had sandy spots on them too. Airways were thin and often had to move the ball to place it on grass in the fairway. Also no sand in the carts for divots - looks like some type of fertilizer/gardening potting soil to put on your divots.
Was a late afternoon tee time so the price was only $27 for 9, but they shouldn’t even charge $27 for 18 on this course. On the weekends they are charging $58-$72 to play this! If I had never played it before and came from out of town to play on the weekend, I would demand a refund after the second hole.
The only plus side is that the clubhouse is great to rest and eat. Good food. Great driving range with top tracer if you like that stuff. Staff was friendly and accommodating to my teen kids that played with me. They should really think about discounting their price until they get their greens in better shape. Otherwise it’s not worth playing. Can’t believe they are still charging what they charge for this course when there are courses in much better shape for way cheaper prices (within just a few miles of Blue Sky).
