This is a great course. Greens are subtle and challenging. It’s long from back tees, especially when the wind blows, so play it forward and have fun.

You can only be let down so many times before you throw in the towel, and that’s what happened at Annbriar this last sunday. I book teetimes with other people because I enjoy playing with other people, and weekends especially you should manage that tee sheet and ensure the morning flows smoothly. What Annbriar allows is “regulars” to tell the starters who they want to play with and then go off in less than 4somes... I drive 45 min for this and enough is enough. I rolled to Gateway National and had THE BEST TIME! Staff over there is extremely friendly and helpful, starters keep things moving, and it was worth the extra money.

Kind’ve sad to say I’m not going to Annbriar again, and they were in my top3 favorites..

This course is just fun on just about every hole. Greens can be tough, scenery fantastic, and the golf is as good as it gets anywhere within an hour of STL.

Based on reviews I seriously thought at was at the wrong course. Someone said it was good for the beginner golfer.....what!? I’m fine with tight tree lined fairways - that’s a great sign of a mature course. This place was clearly back in the day a destination, but the vibe has turned to something more “Camp Crystal Lake”. Fairways are beat. Fairways and tee boxes were like playing from the ruff on many holes. Steep up hills, side hills , tilted fairways that dogleg left and slope right, and blind shots all over the place. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH THE DRIVE FROM SCOTT AFB / BELLEVILLE AREA.

Annbriar never disappoints, and the grounds crew deserves some serious praise. They make this course one of the best I’ve played anywhere in the world. Very scenic and challenging from all tees. It’s become my first choice when I want to get a round in.

This is a great course that gets a lot of play, and it shows. The greens are whipped and there’s no reason it needs to be this way. Starter should educate players on what it means to keep pace of play, and how to fix ball marks on the greens. There are several that are really beat up and it’s sad because this is such a great course.

This course just continues to be a joy to play and I look forward to my next round. Challenging from all tees, fairways are lush, and the greens are pro designed. GOLFERS FIX YOU BALL MARKS PLEASE! This damage will not repair itself and it effects hundreds of players that will follow you.

So many positives and so far for me there's been zero negatives! Very nice design, very pretty hole. Lots of extra details all over the course that make it even better.

Very sorry it took me so long to try out Orchards! The course shows some wear & tear, but it well designed and the greens are cool and challenging. I'll definitely go back.

Loved it so much I played Saturday and Sunday at 7:20am. Not only is this the best course within an hour of STL, it's easily a top 5 for me and I play around the world. Conditions really could not have been better. Fairways LUSH. Greens with character. Layout challenging. Views from most tee boxes AMAZING. Tons of extra landscaping details make this an oasis and my new regular course.

So worth the drive from Scott AFB!

I love the course, and really can't wait to play it again when the greens fill in and smooth out a bit more. Layout is great and the grass in the fairways is fun to play from. That said, there's some lazy people out there, that from the looks of the divots are good players, that are damaging the course by not fixing this divots. I replaced dozens of perfectly replaceable pieces of fairway that were left to die by either people who don't know better (doubt it) or guys that don't care.

GREAT COURSE LETS KEEPMIT THAT WAY.

I'm sure this course is amazing when it's dry and the greens are maintained properly. Unfortunately for my first outing they rolled & looked like shag carpet. Course was wet so it played long. Staff in the pro shop need some customer service training. Layout is great with some really nice scenery. Looking forward to giving them another try when it's in better shape.

Wow....I mean what else would your first though be seeing this course built into a rock quarry!? You know the big whole you see at quarries? Yeah that's where the back 9 is built and it's freaking awesome. Course layout is great, greens have some character, but once you enter that pit it's pretty spectacular. I drive from Dallas to play here, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again - and I will soon!

Staff is so friendly and I was lucky enough to get paired with some members that were a lot of fun to play with.

Absolutely REGRET playing here after running north from the Dallas rain.. The course is poorly maintained, greens are whipped, and the staff needs some serious customer service training. There's potential here, but if yesterday was their normal I'd never play there again..

The folks out here are very nice, and you can tell that at one time this was probably a beautiful course, but the condition I played in on Masters Sunday was terrible. Fairways are rough with a lot of dirt patches, rocks, and weeds. Many of the Greens have bare patches, holes, and weeds growing in them.. I don't want to pile on and bash a place thats fallen on hard times, but driving an hour to play this course for $20 felt like a wasted day..

THE CARTS ARE GREAT!

I absolutely LOVE this course. The Bridges is an hour and fifteen minutes drive each way for me, and I happily do it to play this course in nice weather. I cannot wait for summer when it turns green.. That being said, they need some serious cart upgrades - THEY'RE JUNK! I've played here twice and both times others in my group have had breakdowns, and I noticed multiple others on the course needing help. It slows play to say the least. The Bridges is too nice to have these kinds of issues...

Absolute pleasure playing Shadow Glen on 11/22!! Lucked out and the weather turned nice. Went off at 11:20 and never waited for anyone, and never had a group backup behind us. Very exciting greens with a ton of character. Shot placement is important but you can escape trouble left and right on most holes. I really enjoyed it and look forward to playing again.

Beautiful golf course with challenging holes. I wouldn't go out if my way to pay full retail but every golfnow deal I can get here I'm doing it. Where they're weak is food and beverage. Have someone service the players on the course!

Far Oakes is a joy to play, and when you're paired up with a couple of early morning regulars it's all the better. Had a fun time out and can't wait to see the guys again in a couple of weeks.

The course is gorgeous winding through some of the prettiest homes I've seen in the area. Setup is challenging but not too tough. Some of the greens are seriously canted which makes for some exciting putts.

The greens - folks, FIX YOUR BALL MARKS and PICK UP YOUR FEET (don't drag your spikes)!!! It's absolutely disrespectful to the property and the players following you. It's small thing that can kill a course.

Overall loved it - hope to make Far Oakes the "home course".

Please get a management company out her to revive what should be a great course! Current conditions aren't worth the drive or $30+ fees. Greens are absolutely the worst I've ever played in DFW. Facilities like locker room were a DUMP with trash over flowing on the floor. Sinks were disgusting..

There's a google review that companies the greens to putting on a gravel road...that's accurate.

Was very surprised how much I enjoyed this course. Grounds were in about the best shape they could've been just coming out of winter, and I look forward to seeing it all green in the next few weeks. Staff was so friendly, and the breakfast burritos delicious.

My only complaint goes to the players - FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!!!

There's no excuse not to fix your ball marks on the greens.

Overall a great day and I will definitely play again.
