Played On 11/13/2024Easy Front Nine, Difficult Back Nine
This course was a nice course overall. The check-in process went fine, and although it took about 5 minutes to get to the first tee box, the signage was plentiful and easy to follow. When we arrived, we were the first group to tee off. The starter gave us a lot of information about the course, not all of which we could’ve remembered. He did make it very clear though, that slow play is not tolerated. The GPS on the carts had a bar at the bottom of the screen. The bar was red, either red, with the number of minutes you were behind, or it was green, with the number of minutes you were ahead. On the first hole, even though it went pretty quickly, we were already 3 minutes behind. The thing is though, for the entire rest of the round, we were never behind. My buddies and myself think they program it in to where everybody runs behind on the first hole, just so it will grab people’s attention and let them know to DEFINITELY stay on pace (which worked for us).
This was certainly a course of two different 9s. The front nine was relatively straightforward and not too complicated, whereas the back nine was completely opposite. There were several shots that were blind, where you couldn’t see over the hill, or around the corner. And it seemed like there were more water holes and bunkers on the back. Course knowledge would certainly be helpful at a course like this, as you’d know what to expect. My scores reflected that as I shot a 42 on the front, but a 50 on the back.
All in all though, I would play this course again, especially since as a veteran, I got a pretty good break on the green fees. The weather was perfect, and not too windy. The staff was very friendly as well.

Played On 11/12/2024Really Nice Course
This was a pretty well laid-out, scenic course. Of course, most of the courses in Mesquite, NV have pretty nice views, so that’s no big surprise. Overall though this course was very enjoyable. As long as you play the correct tees, you should enjoy this track. It was definitely challenging, but not so much that you regretted playing it. It is part of a retirement community (I believe), since it seemed most people had their own customized golf carts. The staff in the pro shop, as well as the starter, were all very informative and very friendly. It was a beautiful day, albeit a bit windy. If you’re looking for a nice round of golf with a fair amount of difficulty, in Mesquite, this would certainly be your course

I am 64 years old and I have been golfing for many many years. I will say, without hesitation, that this was truly one of the greatest golfing experiences of my life. This course is unreal! The elevated tee boxes alone are incredible. And, with it being so high up, you feel like Superman when you hit your tee shot, as it just seems to stay in the air forever! I'm sure all the other reviews on here are similar to mine. The course itself was challenging, but if you play the appropriate tees, it's definitely scorable. One of the guys of our group shot a 78 (which was his best score ever). It truly should be on your "bucket list" of courses to play. The only negative thing I have to say about the course is that their driving range is only about 210 yards long. So realistically, most people can't hit a driver. But that did not influence my decision to give it 5 stars. Yes, this course it expensive to play...no doubt. But, there is no other course like it that I know of. Just spectacular views from every tee box. Stunning! Would definitely play again if I am ever in the area.

We were on a buddy’s golf trip. This was the first course we were going to play. We flew into Vegas and were on our way to Mesquite, NV (this course is at about halfway).
Check-in went fine, although their clubhouse was not great. It was extremely small, and the restroom was back in their storage room. They had our names on our carts, which was a nice touch. However, nobody told us where the first tee was, and we drove around for about 10-12 minutes looking for it. There was very little signage on the course. Also, the starter/course marshal/greenskeeper guy said there was nobody in front of us and nobody behind us, which wasn't true at all. Two groups ahead, and two groups behind.
Approaching the first green, our cart was about 30 yards off the green (no cart path signs). After we putted out, our carts would not go forward. So, we put it in reverse, backed all the way to the cart path, and then it STILL wouldn't go forward. We called the pro shop, and they said we parked too close to the green. We had to turn the cart off, wait for 3 minutes, then turn it back on, as this "re-sets" the cart. We followed those instructions, and it worked, but it REALLY put us behind. We didn't even tee off on #2. We just caught up with the other twosome in our group (the foursome behind us had already passed us). The rest of the round was extremely slow. We were waiting on people ahead of us, and groups were getting stacked up. The course marshal came along several times, but nothing was ever done about slow play.
The course itself was very scenic, but EXTREMELY hard, especially the greens. On the Par 3s, you could hit a shot that would end up 6 feet from the hole. But by the time you got up to your ball, it had rolled 30 feet away. But the course is what it is. If you decide to play this course, just know that, in my opinion, this course was stupid hard. There were ball marks all over the green, and there were several areas on the fairways that were bare or just plain dirt. The reason I picked this time of the year to come was because the greens are usually aerated in October, and generally are in good shape by the time November comes around. Granted, we were one of the last tee times of the day (11:40), so previous golfers most likely did not repair their marks very well.
Overall, the staff was very cordial, and the course had beautiful scenery. However, I would not play this course again. I expected a lot more for a $170 green fee. It was after 5:00 by the time we finished (a 5 ½ hour round), and that was rushing on the last 2 holes, as we were fighting darkness.

Played On 10/01/2024Great Course, Great Layout
Course was in perfect shape. The fairways were immaculate, and the greens rolled true. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. There were no marshalls on the course hounding us. Things moved along very smoothly. It was a beautiful day on a beautiful course. There were only a couple minor issues which caused me to rate it a 4: The cart had GPS and there were about half a dozen times when it would stall the cart because it said I was in restricted territory, when I was on the cart path. The other incident is they had a course maintenance guy who, I assume, didn't know anything about golf ettiquete, nor did he speak English. He saw that I had to chip up onto the green (I was behind a bunker), and he wouldn't move his bunker raking machine. Very frustrating. Other than that, I had a very enjoyable round.

I don't really know what golf courses are supposed to be like in early March in Florida, since I am from Colorado. But it seemed to me the conditions of this course were just OK. It didn't seem like a lot of effort was taken to make the course pristine. The green fee wasn't bad, but I think they charged like $15 for a bag of balls, which seemed very high to me. there were A LOT of mature trees which lined the fairways that, if you hit in there, it's difficult to get out. The bunkers were not being raked by the players after using them, and there was no course marshal out there on the course, but overall, a nice round. I probably would pick a different course if I were to golf in this area again, even if I had to pay a little more.
Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course
Played On 01/27/2021Beautiful Course
The course today was in great shape. The greens were fast, but firm. The fairways were lush. The bunkers were nice as well. Sure wish I would've played better, but that's golf. The only disappointing thing was they had no water bucket to wet your towel. And they didn't have ball or club washers on their carts. Other than that, everything was great.

Played On 07/18/2020Good Track
This was a fairly challenging course. It had many Par 4s that were quite long. At 6500 yards though from the blue tees, to make up for the long Par 4s,, there were a couple Par 3s that were pretty short. The bunkers on this course are very strategically placed, as there are many risk/reward situations you will encounter. Although I didn't play very well, I did enjoy the course. It was in great shape. I applaud the maintenance staff for a job well done..
Desert Canyon Golf Club
Played On 03/09/2020Challenging Course.
This course was in really good condition. The fairways were green and lush, and the greens were super nice too. It is deceivingly wide open. But even though it looks easy, and you have several short Par 4's, it was not that easy. First, oftentimes the fairways sloped heavily to one side or the other. Secondly the greens were such that, if you didn't hit it perfectly to the pin, it would roll off the back or where ever it sloped to. Also, about half of the holes had an elevated green, and you were hitting blind shots up on to it. I can see 2, maybe 3 holes like that, but not as many as there were.
I'm not sure if I would play this course again. I guess if I were to know it a little better, and know what to expect, it might be more enjoyable
The Links Golf Club At Queen Creek
Played On 03/03/2020Good Track
Not a bad course. Overall, fairly easy. There are no sand traps, and some water, most of which runs along side of the fairway. There are no water hazards that you have to hit over really. We played the white tees, 5,200 yards, par 70. There were quite a few Par 4s that were under 300 yards. Would I play again? Maybe.

Not knowing what to expect, one of the workers for the course came up to me and told me quite a bit about the front 9. He also paired me up with someone from the local area that has played this course a few times before. Pace of play was excellent as the foursome in front of us allowed us to play through. There was a lot of sand areas, but most were wasteland areas, so they were not maintained. There was no water. Overall I would say the conditions were decent for the current conditions as there has been a lot of rain the last couple of weeks. I would recommend playing this course again. It was a decent value for the money.

Played On 12/31/2019Challenging/Frustrating Round
On this course there were a lot of rolling side hills on the sides of the fairways, the greens were in relatively good shape, seeing as how it had rained for about 2 weeks prior. The disappointing part was the pace of play. There was no marshal out on the course to keep things moving along. Also, it seemed as though people are not very good about repairing the ball marks on the green. I would like to play this course again in the spring time when the conditions are better, there is a course marshal, and the weather is warmer.
DeBary Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/26/2019Nice Course
This being my first time playing this course, I really didn't know what to expect. It had been raining quite a bit lately here (we are here on vacation), and so the course was a bit wet. With that, the greens were pretty slow, and the overall course was in pretty rough shape. Not what I expected, being a Florida course, and a Semi-private one at that. The course layout was pretty good. There were a couple areas where there was standing water in front of the green and in the sand traps, but like I said, it had been raining for the past few days. The starter/course marshals were very friendly and helpful. The young man in the pro shop didn't look like he enjoyed his job very much. Not sure I would join this club or not. I would have to play it a few more times in different conditions.

Awesome! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing DeBary Golf & Country Club.
Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
Played On 03/04/2016Awesome Course
I arrived early in the morning, as I had a 7:40 tee time. When I arrived it was a bit on the chilly side, I would say it was mid 50's. So if you plan to go there in the morning (this was first week of March), take a light jacket with you. I was a single and I was paired up with another single. Pace of play was excellent as there was no one in front of us and no one behind us. We stopped and admired the scenery and snapped a few pictures along the way. From the first whole to the last whole this course was definitely something to behold. The beautiful desert terrain with the mountains in the backdrop was very picturesque. All 3 of the courses here were literally out in the middle of nowhere. There was an exit off of highway 95 that (after turning right) was a road that led directly into the Pauite Clubhouse. This course was located about 35 minutes outside of Vegas, but it was well worth the drive.. The fairways were pretty forgiving for being a Pete Dye course. This particular course (Snowmass) did have a lot of water hazards, so if water makes you nervous, you might want to take a few extra sleeves of balls. The greens rolled true, and the rest of the course was in decent shape. The bunkers had quite a few rocks mixed in with the sand. And if you do hit it OB, you will probably be somewhere in the rocks or gravel (which means your ball could bounce anywhere). Overall, it was a VERY enjoyable experience. Try to go during the week if you can. I went early on a Friday and it wasn't that crowded. At $130 (and $40 for a replay), you truly do get your money's worth at this course. I would highly recommend it.
Bali Hai Golf Club
Played On 03/03/2016Challenging, to say the least
When I arrived at Bali Hai, I noticed it was really convenient, as it was right off of the strip. But, because it's right off of the strip, you don't have a lot of real estate to work with. Therefore, the fairways were pretty tight, and they were right next to each other. I'm want to be fair on this review, even though I golfed really bad that day. It wasn't really the course's fault. I was spraying balls all over the place. But I will say that you have to be pretty accurate on your drives and on your approach shots. Not a lot of margin for error. The course was in fairly good shape though for being early March. Overall, I will say that if you are going to pay that much money ($170 on Golf Now) for a round of golf, you better make darn sure that you are good enough to play there. Otherwise you will may be regretting your decision.
Thank you jastroz for your review on Bali Hai Golf Club. We are so happy to hear you had such a great experience even though your golf game did not reflect it. We realize it can be a challenging course at times with the narrow fairways. We are always looking for great feedback from our guests to continually be making improvements to the golfer experience. Please come back and see us again soon!
Raccoon Creek Golf Course
Played On 05/25/2015Pace of play extremely slow
This was the first time playing this course. I went out there with my two sons, who are in their 20's and 30's. We are fairly experienced golfers. The course was nice, and since we've been having a lot of rain, it was all pretty lush and green. The problem was the pace of play. It was Memorial Day weekend, so you knew it would be a busy day (especially since people felt like they've been couped up inside with all the rain). There were obviously, a lot of first-time, or newer golfers out there who were having difficulty with their shots. I don't have a problem with that. The problem was that there were NO COURSE MARSHALLS out on the course. Either Raccoon Creek doesn't want to spring for them, or they just decided to not put any out there. You have to keep the pace moving along at a fairly good pace, otherwise it's not fun for anyone. I had no problem with the course itself. I had a problem with the course management. It was not worth the price that I and my sons paid. There was a guy playing as a single who was put with us, and he was only playing 9 because he knew that for 18 it would take too long. We had a tee time of 10:28, didn't tee off until 10:45, and we had to leave at 3:30, after only completing 15 holes. Terrible terrible course management. For the kind of money that was paid for that round, they need to hire better people to run the place.
Thorncreek Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2015Not Bad
First of all, I will say it was very windy when we played. So because of that, it was a bit tougher than it normally would have been I think. From the very start, we were very confused. The reason for that was, there was no signage. We didn't even know where the first hole was (we had to ask someone, and they told us it was through a tunnel). They didn't have any signs that said what hole you were on, the yardage, an image of the hole, etc. as most courses do. Also, they didn't even have any tee markers out. There were a couple holes where we got lost, and went to the wrong hole. I am guessing this was the case because it was winter time, and maybe they just don't put it out during winter time due to the wear and tear that is taken on the signs. Other than that though, the course was in pretty decent shape considering it was the middle of winter. Everything was maintained nicely. Greens, fairways, and approaches; all good. Will recommend to my friends.
