Best photos from our reviewers in the month of May

Photos continue to roll in from users of memorable golf courses and animal encounters.

We could have turned this photo gallery from users into a version of National Geographic's Wild Kingdom.

One of the great joys of golf is seeing what wildlife lives on the course and plays through during the round. With more and more photos pouring in each month, we're getting more and more photos of golf course critters, which come in all shapes and sizes. The fact that everybody has a cell phone in their pocket makes it that much easier to capture these encounters.

A lot of the animal photos sent to us were pretty darn close-up. Be careful out there, people! Especially when dealing with bears, alligators and any other potentially threatening beast. For a quick walk through a golf zoo, browse through the photos above. For the stunning shots of scenic courses like Tobiano in Canada and Gamble Sands in Washington State, keep scrolling.
