Hole #12 I believe. Photo submitted by Trailerteri on 04/03/2013
good layout
well designed course and excellent facilities - the only sight negative is speed of play, but we were unlucky to get caught behind 4 guys who should find another sport because they have no hope of breaking 100 at golf. Drones should be employed to fly the course and do a better job of keeping the field moving.
Beautiful course and great conditions
I played the celebrity course. The conditions were great. The greens ran true. The fairways were immaculate. The tee boxes were great. The scenery was beautiful. A little pricey, but a great round.
Extremely slow
It took us 2.5+ hours to play 9 holes. At hole #12, there were 3 tee times stacked up on the tee box. If we didn’t have people dropping out ahead of us and also with our group, it would have taken us 6+ hours.
Apparently a wedding party had the first 4 tee times and slowed down the entire day. No one tried to get them to speed up play. So they just take our money ($260/person) and subject us to a free for all. Don’t play here!
Beautiful course in great shape!
This may be the most impressive course in the C. Valley. Expensive, yes. But it's worth it, at least for one round.
Very Impressive!
This may be the most beautiful course in the Coachella Valley. Well designed and elegant. The driving range was off mats, though each stall is organized like a TopGolf module, with couches and a video ball tracker. Pretty cool, though I'd rather hit off grass. Overall, the round was expensive but worth it.
This course is being redone and work has begun!
Any review is not fair or accurate as the couse is undergoing a new routing and construction. Can't wait to play it next year to see how they did.
Pretty course but slow play
Very pretty course and in good shape but very slow play. Think other courses in the area provide better value for the money.
First time
beautiful course. Excellent practice range. Top rate merchandise in the pro shop!!!!
Definitely a must play
Course was in perfect shape. Every hole is worth a picture. Memorable round.
All of the grass is dead
Half of the fairways are dead, as is most of the rough. They are doing work on the course and apparently applied some treatment to the grass that killed it. It was like playing in concrete for most of the holes. There were multiple groups taking forever on the greens lining up puts like they were playing on Sunday at Augusta. Left after 11 holes when it was going to be a 5 hour round. It’s clearly a nice course with a good layout, but the conditions are awful right now and due to that they aren’t enforcing pace of play.
Great, BUT!
Wow, what a lovely place to play golf. This had the potential to be a top experience for me, but it was not due to issues somewhat outside of the course's control.
The good: This is a fantastically beautiful place! Perfect conditions, lovely views, nice people—I would normally absolutely go again.
The bad: As a single, I got paired with three players. Two were locals who only paid $35 to play compared to my $215! Ouch. The fourth was a visitor as well. The locals showed up late and we got held back waiting on them - that should not be allowed and for $35 bucks, they probably did not think the same as me. All three were slow. Two because they were playing from the back and hitting balls all over creation, and the guest was just SLOW. I filmed him on a 60-yard wedge shot. From the club section to hitting the ball (he airmailed the green BTW), it took him a minute and 20 seconds to hit the shot. Think Sergio from several years back.
We were asked by the Ranger to speed up three times before the 8th hole with every justification. After hitting my tee shot on 10, I told them I had to get the car back to the rest of my party at hotel and was going to jump ahead. I skipped 11 and 12, which put me off and played multiple balls the rest of the way. The ranger was nice enough not to be put off that I left my group as some can be. He said he would have done the same as he could see I was trying to push them from the 2nd hole on. We played the front in 2:40 and the group in front of us probably did it in 1:40! I thought about asking for a rain check as it ruined my chance to enjoy the place.
What does the Golf World think about my asking these folks to comp me a round if I am ever back here? Is that reasonable? I played most of the course, but I had zero enjoyment for the first 3 hours.
Wow!
Absolutely beautiful course. Every hole could be a page in a golf calendar. Tee options were perfect for my level of play. Lots of bunkers to keep your attention. Cascading creeks and pools make for amazing beauty. Staff and marshals are friendly and welcoming. Only downside was that the grass on the greens wasn’t “prefect,” but still way better than most other courses. I highly recommend this course.
Beautiful and challenging
I loved playing this course. Lots of sets of tees perfectly set for a wide range of handicaps. Greens were sloppy and fun. GPS in the carts was very helpful. Staff was super friendly (yes even in the clubhouse!!), especially the starter and the course marshal. Snack cart lady made an amazing Bloody Mary, so I had 2. Only issue was that the grass on the greens was a little thin, like maybe they just did a verticut and top dress. They were still very smooth and fast, but just not “perfect.” Overall I had a wonderful experience.
