Rio Secco
About
Designed by Rees Jones and Keith Evans, Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson affords great views of the Las Vegas Strip below as golfers try to find the course's tricky bentgrass greens. Said greens can be difficult to read, and if you find yourself above the hole, two-putts become a real challenge. One of the most talked about holes, the 200-yard par-3 12th, plays over a valley to a large green that slopes severely from back to front. Back pin positions are difficult, but a front location can yield aces as everything seems to funnel to that spot. Rio Secco is also home to the Butch Harmon School of Golf.

Perfect course
Beautiful scenery, perfect conditions, VERY hard course. Know your clubs and distances.
Rios@the Rio
Riosecco is one of my favorite courses to play...course is in immaculate shape and I’m always able to golf alone and totally play my pace..fees are higher than most but with it..plus it has my last name..good staff and excellent BREAKFAST SANDWICHE..oh my..soon to return..just another day to STStix..!!
Unforgettable Experience
Came from out of town to visit family so I wanted to be guaranteed to have a good time and that is exactly what I got from Rio Secco. The clubhouse, starter, and practice facilities were all fantastic from the get go. The course was absolutely breathtaking with a challenging front 9 nestled within the Seven Hills community. Reminded me of the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles. The back 9 is a lot more forgiving with less elevation and wider fairways. The wind did pick up quite a bit on a few holes. Overall the course is in pristine condition, do not be surprised to run into maintenance crews with hard hats throughout the round. I will definitely be back and have already recommended this course to several golf companions. Hope to be back soon.
Good for players
I thoroughly enjoyed the Rees Jones layout. I never know who designs a course, but had to look it up after playing. Besides the course, staff is great and even the breakfast burrito was on point. I’ll be back.
Challenging course but horrible pace of play
Although the overall layout and challenge of the course is above average, course conditions and pace of play made this an overall poor experience. Course was thin, many divots and ball marks not repaired. Bunkers often very hard (lack of sand). A 5 hour + round is just not acceptable, even if big groups are on the course. The stated pace of play is 4:15 minutes, this should be enforced even with big groups. Hard to say whether i would recommend or not. Course is a challenge which it makes it fun to play. Views were great. But conditions and pace of play greatly soured the experience.
Beautiful course
The course is located in the foot hills south of vegas. You have spectacular views of mountains =and the strip.
One of the prettiest courses I have played in the area. It’s sister course Cascata is still tops.
The course was in winter conditions so I could not give it 5 stars but the fairways were nice and green and the greens were rolling very well. Every hole on the front side and a new challenge. The back nine while had some spectacular holes had a number of back and forth straight par 4&5’s Also some of the sand traps were inconsistent on firmness and amount of sand.
Still had a wonderful time.
Greens in tough shape
The course didn't have a whole lot character to it although some of the views of the strip and multimillion dollar homes surrounding it were impressive. The kid at the front desk seemed to be in a rush to get me checked in and out the door. They did have a bachelor party and to there credit they did send us off the #10 to avoid a slow pace.
The greens where in terrible shape, they just looked neglected. So dry that when a ball landed a cloud of dust would come up. Wedges would stop after a large hop but short and mid irons would chase to the back or off and I play a fairly high ball. The gentlemen I play with played Cascata the day before and they clamed they were prefect and I believe they have the same management company? I come down a couple time a year to play and have had this one on my list for a while, a little disappointed. There may be some excuse for the time of year or water restrictions but I played the Wynn the next day and it was IMMACULATE!
Top Notch Course
I’ve played many of the top courses in Las Vegas and this was one of the most enjoyable. Great conditions. Challenging but fair and a great value through Golf Now. I’ll be back.
Outstanding
This is the best course in the Vegas area for the money by a mile. Great condition and layout. Very fun to play. Outstanding views !!!!
