Meadowbrook at Clayton

About
Opened in 1924, Meadowbrook at Clayton (previously known as Meadowbrook Country Club) in Clayton is one of the oldest golf courses in the area. The course has a traditional layout that has remained popular amongst locals throughout the years. Like most courses built during that time, it is on the shorter side at 6,663 yards, but it has an adequate amount of challenges nonetheless. The layout features rolling, tree-lined fairways and menacing greens framed by treacherous bunkers. Alex "Nipper" Campbell, the course's designer who is no stranger to Dayton area golf, designed the course with playability in mind. It is a fair test but it is also player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. In addition to the golf course, Meadowbrook at Clayton also offers golfers well maintained practice putting greens and a driving range.

Reviews
17 great holes the you play 18
Another country club turned public. Just trying to hang on.
Rang is always closed the course condition is above average for a public track. lay out is great with a disappointing horrible 18 the hole.
Club house aminities are minum at best.
Over all ok but nothing special.
nice for the value
played in Oct. so it had been aerated but greens were in good shape. all fairways are fairly straightt but lots of trees. a good challenge for most all levels.
Nice layout
Good course. Have to hit fairly straight. Greens were in good shape. Good pulled pork sandwich with excellent mac and cheese
Nice course
I enjoyed the layout very much not totally wide open but enough room for average errors
Hit more trees than greens!
For some reason i could not avoid trees this round. Maybe it was tight fairways or just me. Nice course, used to be private, now city owned. greens were just aerated so made putting challenge. Overall very nice course.
Excellent time at Meadowbrook Country Club
I had a great time enjoying the Meadowbrook Country Club. Excellent course, very nicely laid out, very well kept lawn, greens and fairways. Very classy country club house
Great public course!!!!
It's very easy to see that this was once a private course. It is very well maintained. The course is challenging, well worth the price.
So glad this course stayed open
This course gets better every year I play it. It will truly test you with a little bit of everything from long par 4's to blind 2nd shots and if you don't hit the ball fairly straight then be prepared to hit through trees as it covered on both sides throughout the whole course. It as an old school-vintage vibe to it and I think that's what draws me to it. The course has always been in great shape and the staff is above excellent. I don't have one bad thing to say about Meadowbrook. I will keep coming back every year.
Nice course
Nice course, narrow wooded fairways, some greens small but in very good shape. Pace was slow for a Monday. No ranger on the course to speed things up. No beverage person or water on course yet it was 90 degrees. Very good shape and worth the money.
Nice course
Overall a pretty nice course
play this course
this is a very nice course.., went out after major rain shower. front nine closed because of standing water. great layout, somewhat challenging though. friendly staff, with nice pro shop. will play again !
Hot deal
Got a hot deal on golf now for an excellent round
Good course
Usually in pretty good condition, never seems to have a slow pace, and you can find good deals
Great course. Great value
I love this course, but I also hate it. It is challenging, but manageable.
Definitely not #2
Course was not bad, but place is run down.
Good place even after a lot of rain
Very soggy from rain the day before but was still playable. Was the only person on the course. Had a great time.
Great course
Course is in fantastic shape for mid December. Great staff and course!
Great Course
Nice rolling terrain. Challenging but fair test. Look forward to playing it in the Spring with the trees having leaves.
Old School!
Great layout with elevation changes, blind shots, challeging greens, and lengthy par 3's and par 5's. The Par 5's from the tips are nearly 600 yards.
Would play as a daily play course. The difficulty level is not overwhelming so you could work on your game.
Tree lined fairways with limited water and bunkers.
Planning on playing here again next year.
