My son at the 18th hole! Photo submitted by Hassellcari on 08/24/2013
Get the Greens Straight!
The aerated greens were the downfall. Layout was nice, course was nice, I was even playing with rented clubs. But the green were trash. Aerate on 9 holes at a time so the course is not a total loss of playability.
Beautiful course layout, Fairways were very dry as sparse grass, greens have not been cut and overwatered, which made play very frustrating. Some of the green still have weeds growing in them, potentially could be an amazing course. If probably taken care of I should’ve asked for a refund, should’ve been in better condition than what it was in my perspective. For the price of.
Review
Fairways were okay but the greens and sand traps need a lot of work. Putting on these greens was frustrating
Good course on the south side of Atlanta
I recently played at this golf course on the south side of Atlanta and had an enjoyable day overall. Visiting in early March, anticipated that the grass would improve once the weather warms up. The views from the course were pleasant, although it's worth noting that you play golf in close proximity to houses here. My experience was slightly marred by the poor condition of the cart paths, which definitely need some attention. However, the staff were a highlight - they were friendly, personable, and engaging throughout my visit. With some improvements, particularly fixing the cart paths and letting the fertilizer do its job, I believe this has the potential to be an outstanding golf course on the south side of Atlanta.
Quirky Course
My nephew and I were visiting in the Atlanta area over Thanksgiving and played the course with a local scratch handicapper. The course was not long but was designed to make you think before you shoot. The course conditions were less than ideal but overall it was challenging and memorable.
Nice course/awful greens
Last minute booking, and was able to play solo in three hours. I’ve seen bare greens at other courses, but these greens were like putting on a furry carpet.
Lake Spivey Could Be
Lake Spivey is on the cusp of being the premier public golf course on the southside. Layout is solid. Staff very friendly. Value for the solid, appropriate. Improvements… Real sand in bunkers, no more brown dirt. Greens are improving but still need to be better. No fungus but still patches throughout and still fury. Greens can make worst course 100% better, get Course some championship greens. And lastly, get a cart girl and/or water throughout the course for players. Take this course from good to great!
Bad shape
Tee boxes are chewed up. During patches in the fairway. Greens are in bad shape and leaves all over tge course. No way is a round here worth $58.
