Greens in bad shape
All Fairways in good conditions and well maintained.
Some greens are in really bad shape.
We were able to play 18 holes in 4h30, very reasonable time.
We've seen 4 gators different size ! Good entertainment.
This Course is Over Priced.
The Greens are In Badddd shape 3 Greens are Completely Gone and are Covered with Green Sand to make them look like Grass the Others are in poor to very Bad Condition. This Course gets a Lot of Play. Pros Close to Home.
East Bay slow play
We got paired up with a very elderly couple (man was very elderly)...and they were so slow it took 5 1/2 hours to play our round. They didn't have a clue about 'ready golf' but I should have had more patience too. It made for a miserable round. Next time if I play there again I will ask to play as a two-some or specifically ask to be paired with younger people.
poor maintenance of course
The greens are absolutely the worst I have seen in a long time. Sand traps need sand, some were so bad, your club bounced off ground.
Don't think I will be back until I forget about my experience.
poor greens
The best green at East Bay is the practice green. The green on the third hole was covered with an inch of sand, unacceptable. I have played here in the winter off an on for years and it is always the same story - some of the greens are dirt with some grass. I can find better conditioned courses for the same green fees elsewhere.
The course has experienced turf loss on three of eighteen greens with poor wet/cold weather and lack of sun this winter. Greens #3, #10, #12 have sand topdressing. Please be patient as we recover those three greens in our spring transition. Agronomics will accelerate recovery when temps rise above 75 degrees consistently. Fairways in tremendous condition. We thank you for your past patronage and look forward to you enjoying improving conditions soon.
lush green grass
greenest grass of all the places I've played since I have been down this winter
Terrible greens
7 of us paid $37 each. The greens are terrible, many are sanded or flat mud, no grass. I have used this place many times over the last 3 years. I won't come back, it is way over priced for the green conditions.
Weather a problem.
Enjoyed the 14 holes with my Brother in Law from Canada and 2 great Gentlemen paired up with us. Severe storm in area did not allow us to finish our round which was a bit of a disappointment. Greens very fast which took a couple of holes to get acquainted with.
Fairways in good shape but beware of the greens!
We had a great time golfing at East Bay. We were impressed by the condition of the fairways. The greens were a different story. Many were impossible to putt on. Many bare spots and very uneven. Maybe this is normal for Florida in February. We are going to golf at Lansbrook on Thursday so will write a review then.
Greens Need Work
Like layout; but most greens in poor shape - not much grass. Otherwise the course is in good shape.
this course is golf friendly
Liked the course ,price was right, doubled us up with a great couple from Quebec they were fun! Only friendly staff member was gentleman one #10 our tee of hole he was from New Brunswick rest were not friendly to first time players! But we will be back .Thanks for asking our opinion! you were recommended by a friend from Largo who golfs there she is from Canada as well loved seeing the gators!
Good time , nice shape
Very reasonable good shape , nice chAllenge, great value especially on golf now
East Bay
Overall average course with challenging holes. A few greens were in very bad shape.
Too slow/Greens need improvement
Normally a very good course to play, but today was overcrowded with 3 groups on a hole sometimes. The group in front of was extremely slow- adding to the backup behind us. There should have been a ranger to monitor the rate of play.
Additionally, several of the greens were more sand than grass. Their greens are usually in real good shape, but they need attention now.
Greens in poor shape
I think yhe greens had been recently top dressed because they were very bad, However, fairways were in excellent condition. Bunkers need new sand.
Good Value
Not bad. Good for groups. Slow play though. Would play again.
Good Bang for the Buck
Surprisingly well run. Good starting system and pace of play (the pace of play will change to slow during the Florida heavy snowbird season). Have played the course about once a week since my first outing so it's on my list to play at least 4 times a month. The course was in good condition and offers some interesting challenges.. For the money (hot deals# it is a great value.. The golf carts are new and have built in GPS for your distances #and scoring if you wish) to the front, center, and back of the greens which is a nice feature. you should give this course a try....
Needs Attention
The layout is good, the length is fair, some interesting holes but very poor conditions especially the greens. They are terrible especially the third hole doesn't have one blade of grass, the rest are not that much better. He fairways reflect the greens, poor conditions, no grass. The traps are never raked. Why can' the greens all be like 18 the only green on the course.
Slow round
Usually a fun outing, but this time the course was packed and there was no beverage cart and the snack bar/bar were closed. Group ahead of us were all beginners, so we waited on every shot.
