Very Slow Greens
Even though the cost was low, I would not play this course again.
The greens were extremely slow, weeds throughout the fairways and rough, tee boxes less than desirable. The course played very long, mostly due to the very wet conditions. Even though wet, this is not a woman-friendly course; it is very long for the average woman, even from the forward tees.
Almost flooded out
Under normal conditions I would recommend this course. During a rainy reason like we've had, it is almost unplayable on 40% of the holes. I recommend waiting until there have been a few weeks without any rain.
Nice Layout
This obviously was a very nice course and track at one time. With all the water holes, it can be very difficult. We enjoyed playing here, but believe you need another set of tees. Nothing between 5967 yards and 5286. Something in the area of 5500 yards would be nice.
Bombing Range (Wear a helmet)
This course is very compact with multiple fairways in close proximity, had several balls end up in our fairways, two of which almost hit us, as well as ours ending up on others fairways too. Also when on your fairway you can see several different greens and flags which can be quite confusing which one your aiming for. I personally shot at the wrong one twice, luckily my trusty slice lead me back to a decent place for a decent recovery at the correct pin. The course ranger was completely unproffesional and followed us at close proximity for several holes. We were grouped with 2 guys who werent the best, but after a few holes we were moving as fast as the group in front of us would allow and yet the ranger came to tell us to speed up our play after the 3rd hole. He then followed us until the 6th hole when we had to tell him that he was making everyone very uncomfortable and really just putting a damper on our round, after all we payed the same money as the others, we should enjoy our day too. On top of this our foursome finished at 3 hrs 40 mins so we couldnt have been going that slow! For that reason alone I will never give them my money again.
First timer's point of view
This was our first time playing this course and the 4 of us were pleasantly surprised. The course condition shows that they've been working on it. The fairways, 1st and 2nd cuts were great - so bring your chipping game! Water hazards will kick you in the butt, so you need to be on the mark. One downfall were all the single players and twosomes playing "willy nilly" any hole they wanted to. We like to be polite and let the singles play through but they slowed our game down considerably. Otherwise, a great day was had by all. We'll go again.
Not Bad
Medium level course but very dry. Not for talented players
this course was well maintained
the staff could use a little training, the cart girl never came back after she promessed to do so & the ranger should have refrained on making crude comments about other golfers to us.
this course needs work
Needs work on the greens..Balls bounced and change dirctions..They shouldn't be charging those prices when the greens are that bad!!
Challenging course but not ridicously difficult.
I have played this golf course several times. Challenging but not to the point that if you stray from the fairway you are penalized. Always enjoyed the course. A lot of the holes are set up for a golfer who plays right to left. Tee boxes could be better, but during the winter season I sure they got lots of play. When recommend this course and will return to play it again this summer.
Course good greens lousy
We always like the course. Play was slow but moving fairly good. A several minute wait on each hole. That wasn't bad but the greens were bumpy, uncut and extremely slow. You couldn't hit a putt straight. The fairways were fine. If the greens were good it would get a much higher rating but, no way!!
Slow play and greens not very good
We actually tee'd off a bit early and thought that was a good sign, until we finished the first hole and found things backed up. 5 hrs. later we were finally finishing up. The fairways are pretty good for the most part, but a number of greens were in less than stellar shape, which took some fun out of the game for me.
For an extra 7 bucks, I'd golf Seminole Lakes GC instead. They're greens were in much better condition.
Nice layout
This club continually overbooks the course on the front and back nines. If you do not enjoy standing around on tee boxes, book elsewhere.
The greens need improvement.
Great value and fun place to play
This was the second year I have played East Bay while on vacation. Not only is it a great value, it is very challenging. Only one green was not in good shape, but that was offset by the thrill of seeing an alligator in the water on a hole. The staff was friendly and thhe GPS on the carts made the whole experience even that much better.
Don't pay regular price.
I have played East Bay a number of times due to proximity. Staff is friendly. Tee boxes and fairways are OK. Course is fairly open with a reasonable number of traps and hazards. Pace of play is not bad. The greens however are the worst in the area. They are extremely slow and you can watch your ball bouncing with every putt. Unless you are playing for less than $25 or don't care about the condition of the greens this course is not worth the money.
Every hole is challenging and fun to play
We got to the course and hour and a half before our tee time as rain was forecast for later in the day. The first tee was open and the starter let us got right out and we had a great time. The course is in good condition and each hole offers unique challenges. Some of the greens were somewhat bare but overall our threesome enjoyed the round. I would recommend East Bay and I will definitely play there again.
Greens very poor
Greens were poor, fairways need mowing. Some of the staff are really welcoming and friendly but sadly some are not.
Greens need help
Nice layout, Friendly staff. Course itself is in great shape Greens need a lot of work. Don't think they have been cut or groomed in a week. Long, shaggy, bumpy and not good. All 18 greens!
good layout
Greens are the only bad thing about this course, they are crusty, hard,in poor condition, took too long to play
Bad Customer Service
course over-books for profit. very slow play & did not see a ranger until 5:56PM. (1:58 tee time) The worst customer relations I have seen from the Claw to Duneeden. I felt like I was an inconvienience for them. Wood never recommend to anyone.
greens were in terrible condition
The first holes were not well marked, It was very confusing trying to determine which fairway was yours.
